Description of 1975 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

This is a 1975 Mercedes Benz 450SL with both tops. It is shown with the hardtop but also has the original black convertible top. The owner asked me to list the car. He got the car for a debt and needs to sell it. This 450SL has only had three owners; it was silver originally but a former owner had it painted white. The car was stored for 15 to 20 years because it would not start due to a wire pulled from a control box. The current owner has done quite a bit of work to the car. The fuel system has been redone: new pump, ilter, ines, njectors cleaned and new seals installed. The engine has been tuned with new distributor cap, ires, otor, oints and plugs. Engine starts right up. Because the car sat so long the AC compressor and the smog pump are stuck - owner has removed their fan belts. The inner and outer tie rod ends were replaced along with front and rear sway bar bushings. This car drives smooth at interstate speeds. The car is ready to drive and everything works fine except for the AC and when using the right turn signal you have to hold the lever; works on the left fine. The owner has a rag joint for the steering and you can talk to him about installing it - I didn't notice anything with the steering but he said it aged from sitting. The black convertible top is original and while it has no rips it will need rubber so it may need a new top soon. The seal for the boot needs to be replaced. The weather stripping for the trunk and a couple of other things will go with the car. Car has a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player and rear speakers. You can see in the photos the car could use some interior work and other work but it is a good running, riving car that you can drive home. Email any questions, ake an offer and you can ask for the owner's number to set up a time to see and drive the car.
