Description of 1972 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 450 SL, 450SL, 450SLC, Convertable

NO RESERVE -Rare 72 Mercedes 350SL Convertible, wo Tops, 1K, .5 V8, irst Year of Classic SL Body Style

71k original miles, .5 V8.As the link below explains, he value of the '72 350SL convertibles is steadily increasing. Hagerty's average value for a 1972 SL convertible in this condition and with this mileage is $19,500. I am also considering sale of my 1929 Mercedes Gazelle Replica, hotos and details below.

Mechanical: The 71k on the odometer is original, onfirmed by my mechanic. Always been regularly maintained, he car is powerful, mooth and quiet. All the maintenance is up to date and the car is registered and on the road. The power windows all work well as do the wipers and horn. The a/c has not been retrofitted, t turns on the compressor but needs to be charged. The buttons for the climate control fan work intermittently. The engine has great pickup, he 4.5 V8 is powerful and quiet and the transmission shifts properly, n the highway she'll get 17-18 mpg. The mechanisms for both the soft top and hard top work properly, ll handles and fittings included. Boot cover locks down firmly when top is down. If you're familiar with these cars the two multi-function levers for the two tops and boot cover are often broken or missing; this SL has both levers working properly, oth lockdown nuts for each side and both handles for locking the top above the windshield. The earlier 1970's SL's had higher compression motors with better mileage and HP.Everything lines up properly, he doors close easily and the hardtop comes off and bolts back on on properly, ll the locking mechanisms function as they should. I bought this one because of the low mileage and the fact that it's the most solid and clean SL I could find.

Cosmetic: The car has always been garaged.Bought from the second owner, e gave it to his daughter for college about eight years ago. Before giving it to her it was repainted and had the softconvertible top replaced at the same time with a Mercedes heavy duty top, olor coded to the car. The hardtop bolts down firmly and all the soft and hardtop levers and fasteners work easily. When the car was painted later model SL safety bumpers were added. The new paint, op and bumpers cost him over $8000. It's quiet inside on the highway with the windows up. The interior is in good condition; except for the driver's seat bolster area there are no rips or worn areas on the seats, oor panels, arpet, onsole or rear section. The chrome bumpers and brightwork are in great shape, o dents, cratches, itting or fading, hey shine. Modern Ipod ready stereo. Selling both the 350SL and Gazelle Replica due to finances. The SL was mainly driven by my wife.

I reserve the right to end the auction early as the 350SL is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well.I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, ost of shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional, eliable and have great rates.Any questions feel free to email or call914-Two Two Four-3230.
NO RESERVE auction, he winning bidder gets this classicEuropeanroadster which will only appreciate in value.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1929 Mercedes Gazelle Replica Convertible, actory Built in 1988
Mercedes Gazelle Replica factory built by Gazelle in 1988 (not a kit) with 12,400 miles. Built on a Ford platform, t originally had a Ford drivetrain. It now has a professionally installed 1990 Nissan 240sx fuel injected 2.4 overhead cam engine and a 5 speed transmission, nder 30k on drivetrain. The ECM (computer that controls the engine) is mounted under the dash and a modern blade fuse box installed under the hood. When the swap was done the engine got a high output electric fuel pump and the cooling system got a heavy duty electric fan. The fuel injected engine always starts right up with the turn of the key, o gas pedal necessary. When Nissan engine was installed it got a new timing belt, ew injectors, ater pump and valvecovergaskets. When my mechanic first saw the car he was impressed by the level of skill and that went into the engine andtransmissionconversion.
I've invested considerable time and money getting the Gazelle totally roadworthy, ncluding new brake hardware kits at each wheel, ew wheel cylinders all around, ew brake hoses and lines as well as shoes and drums. She's gotperformanceshocks all around and the entire front end was rebuilt, ncluding the rag joint and all bushings and linkages. The steering is tight and precise and the car overall feels more like a 944 than a Gazelle. Other recent work includes exhaust, lternator, owerful cabin heater, lectric cooling fans connected to the factory sensors, nd radiator.I had not planned on selling this car so I spared no expense getting her not just roadworthy but performance oriented. I've got 4 lug to 5 lug billet aluminum wheel adapters ($250 for the set on Ebay) and 18 inch chrome wheels and low profile tires on the car now. The original 14 inch spoke wheels and tires are included.
Before buying this one I test drove several Gazelle Replicas with both the VW and Ford motors andthis one leaves them in the dust, robably the fastest Gazelle replica out there. This Gazelle is built for performance, ot parades. The fuel injected Nissan engine starts easily and runs smooth and quiet, o leaks or noises from anywhere. Full canvas top, oor canvas and side windows as well as the top down, uick zip up cover. Wood inlay dashboard and vintage style gauges, omplete with nice Pioneer Ipod ready stereo.Always garage kept.I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, ost of shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a good door to door auto shipper I've used in the past.
One of a kind, erformance oriented Gazelle Replica open to best offer over $6500. 914-Two Two Four-3230
