Up for bidding is my Mercedes SL Koenig Special It is a 380SL with an original bodykit, placed by KOENIG SPECIALS in Germany in the '80'sI do have an original certificat from the convertion of that VIN number signed by Mr. Koenig. There is some rust in thetrunk floor (new OEM parts are there yet),front passenger floorboard, in a corner at the footwell. Not a whole floorpanel quarter to replace... Rockerpanels are rustfree, chassis and inner structure aswell.The body is straight, no cracks, dents, rips or what so ever. It is painted in a primer a few years ago, ready to be sanded down for paint.All fittings are nice, allignements are correct, overall a nice widebody.The trunklid is like new on the inside, not like most trunk lids on the R107 SL's which are known of rust on the inner lip. On the fendertag the colorcode is 040G, which is black.The interior is light grey leather, in nice shape, no rips, tears or cracks.All wood inserts are in good shape. It could come with a nice set of EURO spec. headlights if wanted. The car has been in process of restoration, but due to health issues the process had to be stopped. This is also the reason why the car is for sale now. Looking for the right new owner who likes the model and wants to give the car the attention it deserves. There is a black softtop in good condition, and a black hardtop which could come with the car if wanted. The wheels (Compomotive 3 piece) are restored (centers are powdercoated silver, new stainless bolts were used for mounting the centers on the manualy polished lips. The rear wheels have new tires 295/50R15 This is a rare car, so i hope it gets the right buyer who would give the car the right attention.
