Description of 1985 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van Camper

I am selling a very unique, cool, and retro 1985 Mercedes-Benz wohnmobil RV camper van vin# 61146810643944. I found this van for sale outside of Albuquerque and flew out there to buy it and drive it back to Houston. Unfortunately, the camper was not in the condition the seller stated it was in, but I finished the deal and drove it back to Houston as safely as I could. I'm not sure if it was his ignorance or lack of intelligence, but I will try to represent this camper as honestly as possible and with as much information as I know about it. Yes it does have rust, yes it does need work, and yes it is cool! I was going to join the full time #vanlife crowd, but unfortunately I got a job. I can't give this thing as much love as I was initially hoping, and I am therefore trying to pass it along to someone who can take care of it the right way and not let it sit around.
Engine
5 cylinder non-turbo Diesel, legendary Mercedes-Benz "million mile" motor
I did an oil and filter change in Albuquerque
Engine has an oil leak, I topped it off about 2 quarts every 150 miles
Radiator fan shroud is pretty wornout, but I was able to secure it back to the radiator
A/C Compressor is in-op
Engine runs strong
Transmission
Automatic Allison transmission, very rare and strong
I checked the fluid in ABQ looked good
Brakes
All brakes need replaced to include front pads and rotors, rear wheel cylinders and shoes
As well I would recommend renovating the hard brake lines

Sometimes one headlights works
No tail lights, no brake lights
I secured the alternator back to the engine block after it came loose on the trip

No house battery, but I did hook one up and the tank check panel works and the interior lighting and fart fan all work
Has large LPG tank
Passenger seat missing, but swivel seat base is still there
Needs new cockpit cab carpet
Overall the interior is still in good condition

The person I bought this camper from received it from another individual to pay off some debt. This camper was sitting for quite some time and had to be pulled out from the side of a house in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I purchased it with no title, but did put Texas Insurance on it and got a Texas one-trip permit to drive it back to Houston safely. I have not gotten the title for it, nor have I tried. I would be happy to assist the new owner with getting a bonded title for it. The VIN# is 61146810643944 and it did come from Germany. I did have the New Mexico MVD in Las Vegas search for it with no record returned. The last time it was tagged was in the year 2000 in California. It will come with a bill of sale and the California plates and is being sold as a project. Even though this camper does need work, I was still able to drive it from New Mexico back to Houston, during the day only, over Thanksgiving break. The brakes were quite nerve racking, but overall she ran great and was happy to stretch her legs after years of sitting. Every 100 miles I stopped to check the oil and top off the diesel. I do remember it got quite good fuel mileage, but I don't remember specifically what it was. Overall, this is a very fun, cool, unique, quirky, and retro European camper that you just do not see. I am offering it at a fair price so that the new owner can afford to come pick it up or transport it, as well as complete the necessary repairs in the future.
