For sale by owner, 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Turbo Diesel in 'Champagne Metalic' with 197,532 original miles, and chrome wheel arches!!! This car is rust and collision free. It starts with ease, even in freezing temperatures (with some diesel fuel additive) and drives and handles like a dream, shifting properly and at correct timing. Interior is in good condition as is the dash with only a few small cracks. All wood trim is there. Body is solid with no dents. Windshield has a couple of chips. New Michelin tires at 177,932 miles. Manual sunroof opens and closes with ease. Electric windows all work. Fog lights work. There is a recent leak in the vacuum system that controls the central locking but it is an easy fix and the locks all work manually. I have blocked off the engine vacuum system from the rest of the car so engine shuts off as it should. The See images for list of work and component replacements. I have spent over $4,000 on this car and it really does drive excellently. I have changed the oil etc. regularly and really put some love into it. I have no doubt that it will do 300,000 more miles with appropriate upkeep as these cars are indestructible when cared for. This is a perfect candidate for full complete restoration, veggie fuel conversion or just as a sexy and reliable daily driver. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
