1982 Mercedes CD300 Turbo Diesel Collector Car

This greenish-blue1982 Mercedes 300CD TURBO DIESEL was purchased several months agoas a project . We have done some service work on it: oil and filter, air filter, valve cover gasket, valve adjustment and checked the timing chain. We bought this originally for the 5 cylinder TURBO diesel as we have one already in our Sprinter that has plenty of power, but our priorities have sincechanged. The engine has minimal blow-by, compared to others and no smoking other than normal for a diesel ( barely detectable at idle). The car runs and drives. Engine and transmission work well andsound great . The auction is for LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. We do not offering shipping. We do recommend trailering it home.We can driveon ourstreet to see how it runs.

The vehicleis complete, except for the radio and possibly some small other things you may find. There has been some front end damage repair work. I was told that bodywork was not completed and the front fenders and other parts are loosely bolted on. The bolts are in the console, just the way I bought i, along with two front rocker covers. The dents we see are on both front fenders and one door . I am sure there could be other smaller ones.The floorboards seem to beOK but there are other rust issues around the car,but not as bad as others that we have seen for this age.

The interior is older but intact. Some window switches, lights, cruise control accessories, etc. may or may not work. The tachometer works sometimes. We have not gone through the car and tested everything. Our main focus was the engine.The miles shown on the odometer are 215,000. It is exempt on the title due to it's age. The steering box leaks a bit and possibly other leaks that we are not aware of. It needs a new battery and at least one tire, but it will start on a loaner battery by us.

We have an open title signed by the previous owner and never registered or signed by us. Sorry about the grease mark on it. We neverregistered it since it was bought for the engine and do not have a bill of sale from the previous owner. We do certify there are no liens and that we did purchase the car. We will sign a bill of sale for you and give you the title to the car.This car is as is. Any inspections of the vehicle will need to be done prior to your bidding. I also have it for sale locall, so if it sells here, I reservethe right to end this auction early.
