Description of 1983 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

This is the complete restoration and composition of a 1983 Mercedes 300TDT Station wagon and a 1983 Mercedes 500SE Police Interceptor sedan. This combination ofthese two vehicles produces a 300 horsepower drivetrain in a beautiful Mercedes wagon with enough power to pull a boat and enoughroom for a family of seven. Its 2:21 rear axel ratio gives great speed and reasonable fuel economy. This car has been completely rebuilt and restored by a 32 year veteran Mercedes/ Aircraft mechanic and performs flawlessly. We took a pristine Arizona native 1983 Mercedes diesel station wagon with almost no miles on it and did a complete ground up restoration. Within a month after we acquired it, we also had an opportunity to buy a 1983 Mercedes 500SE euro police interceptor sedan. The car had been imported by a private party but had quite a lot of rust. The drivetrain was perfect so we elected to make a Mercedes station wagon (which were only produced with an underpowered 5 cylinder diesel or 6 cylinder gas engine) with ahigh performance, V-8 engine andfour speed automatic transmission. Finally a mid eightiesMercedes wagon with all of it's glass windows and almostno blind spots, with and engine that could tow or launch just about anythingyou could put behind it. Thefinal drive rear end ratioof 2:21 gives you a very strong and powerful vehicle that gets fairly reasonable mileage. This car has the reinforced 107 (500SL)rear sub-frame bushings to be able to take the added horsepower. All brakes, bearings and suspension bushings were replaced and are new as well as the engine and transmission rebuilt to give a very nice new driveline. The body was refinished with in 1997 Jaguar Cabernet metallic paint andfinished with 10 coats of clear to give a deep rich shine. The interiorwood has been restored to itsoriginal finish and luster. The dash is crack free original and the car has been lined with soundproofing. There is avery fine sound system and the doors, seat and back panels are all crack and tear free as well. This car is simply one of the nicest station wagon models and will go quickly. Good luck on bidding. Thanks for looking.
