Description of 1986 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series 560 SEC |
| We are offering this very nice Mercedes Benz 560 SEC 2 door coupe in rare Ivory(light yellow) color. Let me start off by saying this is not a mint condition. low mileage vehicle nor has it been restored. This car has 173. 00 miles and has signs of usage expected for a car almost 30 years old. We recently obtained this car from a gentleman who was driving it regularly but due to a career move to New York decided to part with the vehicle rather than shipping it there. The vehicle starts right up. drives smooth and is overall a nice ride. The vehicle has a current valid registration in CA and a clear CA title. Some interesting history - The vehicle has been in CA since being shipped from Germany by special order to the original owner who was the wife of 20 year Publisher of the Orange County Register. David Threshie. The vehicle was purchased during his tenure there - all of the original manuals come with the vehicle including the metal tag directly from Mercedes Benz with Judith Ann Threshie's name imprinted on it with matching name on the owners manual. The maintenance booklet is stamped through 1993 and about 43. 00 miles. Being a CA vehicle all of it's life the car is virtually rust free. I have taken a few pictures of the undercarriage so you can see just how clean / solid / rust free it is. Almost everything works on the car. I have listed. in the condition section. all of the things that I am aware of that have some issues. I apologize in advance if there are other things not listed. This is a car you can get in. start up. and drive anywhere. It has cold AC. the radio and 6 disk CD player work well. sunroof works. all gauges appear to be in working order including the clock. all lights including turn signals and brake lights are functioning. The brakes and transmission are doing their jobs well. With all that being said this is a 30 year old car and I have not taken it in for a full diagnostic testing. For this reason the car is being sold as is with no warranties. As mentioned in the condition section the car does smoke a little which is noticeable mostly when the car is stopped idling for awhile. If you choose to drive the vehicle home a long distance my recommendation would be to bring an extra quart of oil to be safe. I have tried to be thorough in explaining the known flaws to the vehicle.
