THE INTERIOR IS CLEAN CONDITION AND NICE. NO RIPS TEARS OR WEARING IN THE MB TEX UPHOLSTERY. SEAT PADDING IS FAIRLY NEW FRONT AND REAR. THE KICK PANELS ARE BEGINNING TO COME AWAY FROM THE CARD AND COULD BE CONTACT CEMENTED OR SPRAY ADHESIVED BACK IN PLACE.
THE DASH SPEAKER GRILL IS OF COURSE WARPED AS ARE ALL OF THEM OUT THERE. USUALLY ANYWAY.
GAS TANK WAS REMOVED AND TREATED,
NEW CORRECT BATTERY,
BRAKE LINES REPLACED.
THE FOUR WHEEL DISC BREAKS ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
NEW MAGNAFLOW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST MUFFLER WITH TWO 7.5 FEET OF DUAL ALUMINUM PIPES FROM FIREWALL BACK PUT ON 2 MONTHS AGO.
CORRECT SOLEX CARB REBUILT AND NEW INTAKE LEVELED AND INSTALLED FOR PROPER CARB SEAT, NO WARPAGE.
VALVES ADJUSTED,
TIMING CHAIN REPLACED.
COMPLETE SERVICING OF THE FLUIDS AND NEW FUEL LINES.
NEW CARPETS,
ORIGINAL BECKER RADIO WORKING.
AIR BLOWS COLD BUT THERE IS A RECENTLY DEVELOPED SQUEAK AT TIMES THAT I HAVE NOT LOOKED INTO YET. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S JUST THE BELT OR IF IT COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE.
THE CAR SITS IN A TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME WITH ABOUT 25 TO 50 MILES PUT ON IT MONTHLY THROUGHOUT THIS SUMMER, IF THAT MUCH. DOESN'T SEE RAIN AND NEVER SEEN SNOW.
THE SUN VISORS HAVE SEEN BETTER DAYS AND CAN BE REPLACED THROUGH SELLER AT EBAY FOR ABOUT $100-125 I THINK IT IS.
I PURCHASED A USED SET OF WORKING EURO HEADLIGHTS WHICH ARE FAR MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN THE USA MARKET LIGHTS. THE GLASS LENSES WERE DESTROYED IN SHIPPING FROM FLORIDA AND i HAVE NOT YET REPLACED THEM. THE FIXTURES ARE INCLUDED.
THE LENSES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE AT EBAY FOR A REASONABLE FIGURE.
I HAVE THE ORIGINAL HEADRESTS BUT THE THREAD HAS COME OUT AT ONE EAR SO I HAVE ANOTHER LEATHER SET WHICH ARE COGNAC #18 OR TOBACCO IN COLOR UNTIL GETTING THE ORIGINALS REPAIRED PROPERLY. YOU GET BOTH SETS.
I HAVE OWNED 6 OF THESE 73-76 COUPES. OBVIOUSLY I LOVE THEM AND ENJOY THEM.
THE 73 IS UNIQUE UNTO ITSELF AS IT IS THE FIRST YEAR OF THE 280C AND IS ALSO THE LAST YEAR OF THE ATTRACTIVE SMALLER CHROME BUMPERS. THE 74 MODELS BROUGHT THE MASSIVE BUMPERS BEGINNINGS. AT LEAST IN THE STATES. SO UNLESS YOU GET HOLD OF A EURO MODEL....
THE M110 ENGINE IS BY INDUSTRY STANDARDS APPROPRIATELY REFERRED TO AS "BULLET-PROOF". SERVICE THEM AND THEY ARE KNOWN TO RUN LITERALLY A MILLION MILES.
THIS CAR RUNS STRONG AND YES WITH THE "NOISE" YOU TYPICALLY HEAR IN A VINTAGE BENZ. BUT THAT'S PART OF THE EXPERIENCE AS IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE MECHANICALLY. iT IS THE NORM AND DOES NOT INDICATE AN INTERNAL MECHANICAL PROBLEM.
THIS CAR IS A COMFORTABLE RIDE AND FUN TO DRIVE. IT TRAVELS DOWN THE HIGHWAY STRAIGHT AND TRUE AT 70-75. ALWAYS A LOT OF LOOKS TOO.
THE SMALL SPEAKERS AT THE KICK PANELS ARE MISSING THEIR BLACK COVERS. THESE ARE AVAILABLE AT EBAY BRAND NEW OFFERED BY A MB RESTO PARTS COMPANY FOR ABOUT $80.
THE WINDOW SEALS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ONE YEAR AGO AND THE DOOR, HOOD AND TRUNK RUBBER SEALS ARE IN EXCELLENT SOFT CONDITION.
INCLUDED ARE BOTH SETS OF WHEELS AND TIRES SEEN IN THE PICTURES. THE CHROMED MERCEDES WHEELS ARE MOUNTED ON BRAND NEW TIRES WITH THE LITTLE TITS STILL MOSTLY IN TACT. ABOUT 300 MILES ON THESE TIRES AND THE NEW CHROMED WHEELS.
THE CORRECT 14X6 INCH STEEL WHEELS CURRENTLY ON THIS CAR ARE FRESHLY RESTORED. (A CHUNK OF CASH TO FIND THEM & ANOTHER CHUNK TO RESTORE THEM) THESE WHEELS ALSO-ALSO-ALSO HAVE BRAND NEW TIRES ON THEM WHICH i HAVE PUT RIGHT AT 176 MILES ON THIS SUMMER AFTER PURCHASING THEM IN JUNE.
THESE 2 SETS OF WHEELS AND TIRES COST ME RIGHT AT $2000 TOTAL. THERE IS A LOT OF VALUE IN THIS CAR IN MANY WAYS BUT LIFE CAUSES ME TO SELL, NOT THAT i WANT TO. HOWEVER i'M MEASURED IN MY EXPECTATIONS CONCERNING MY "WILLING-TO-LET-GO-OF-PRICE, REGARDLESS.
THE STEERING WHEEL SHOWN IN PICTURES IS NO MORE. THE GRIP HAD LET GO OF THE STEEL RING UNDER IT. NEVER SEEN THAT HAPPEN BEFORE.

THIS SUMMER I PUT AN ITALIAN NARDI STEERING WHEEL ON THE CAR AND IT LOOKS MUCH BETTER AND FEELS GREAT IN THE HANDS.
THE PLASTIC PART OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT HAS COME APART NOT REALLY BROKEN. NEEDS PUT BACK TOGETHER OR REPLACED. THEY ARE REASONABLE IN PRICE.
