Description of 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

1958 Mercedes Benz O319B Panorama Bus-Rare Panorama Bus Project--Mercedes Benz North America Training Bus--Dry New Mexico Car--Rare MB WEBASTO Sunroof Option--Original Dually Rear Axle--NO Title for Export--SOLD ONLY TO USA BUYERS--Scroll below for 40 large pictures-PLEASE NOTE!!! This bus is unable to be exported as I can only sell it with a bill of sale. I do not have a title for it. Thus. I am only offering this to USA bidders! Another one of my projects that I have finally accepted I will never have a chance to finish. I am going to trim down my 319 herd in order to make space. This O319B bus came out of New Mexico a few years back. The gentleman I had purchased it from had bought it as a project many years ago and never got to it. The bus currently has a GM or Chevy motor in it. It retains its original dually rear axle. The gentleman I bought it from said it was originally used by Mercedes Benz of North America for training. I am guessing it ferried MB workers around. It still shows the original MBNA markings on the sides and rear. The glass is all present and installed except for the rear glass piece. Thankfully that is a flat piece of glass so it would be fairly easy to reproduce. The rest is excellent besides a few small nicks in the windshield and some bubbling at the edges. The front seats are original. but the rears are not. There are a few small tears and patched areas on the rear seat cushions. They are not mounted firmly and will need to be bolted into place. I have some spare seat cushions that are a similar brown if the potential buyer would like more to go with the set. The interior door and side panels are mostly present and in surprisingly solid shape. but would need recovering. The roof panels have been removed. but some of the side ones are still present up top. The complete rear portion of the cabin floor is originally a thick marine-like plywood from the factory. Most of it is fine. but there are some areas that will need patching. The rubber floor matting will need replacing. The body is probably the best attribute to this project. Besides the hood having been dented a bit. the body of this bus is nice and mostly straight. The chassis has normal surface rust. but is completely solid. The body is completely solid as well. Most likely due to its favorable climate in the desert. The trim appears to be missing many pieces. The instrument cluster appears to be all there The webasto sunroof is missing the sliding bow frame which is the moving part. The side rails and front and rear parts are present. The interior still has most of the original small items in place. The roof still has the heater vents and speaker. The interior dome lights are present. the original glass breaking hammer holder is still present on each side in the rear. The panorama glass in the roof still has all the curtain rails present on the inside cabin. Despite being a large project. these buses command large money once together and in nice condition. All of the glass gaskets and seals are available from Germany. List of issues I have noted:Small nicks and bubbling in the windshieldTrim pieces are missingMissing original motor/radiator/transFront bumper is missingRear seats are not originalGlass gaskets will need replacing1 missing piece of glass (rear piece)Wood floor needs workNeeds bodywork and paintSunroof parts missingOther various parts missingThe car is located at a property not accessible by large transport trucks.
