Description of 1983 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series

I am selling my 83' diesel. I absolutely adore this car and have had fun with it but it's time for a new toy. I bough this locally from a retired aircraft mechanic who was 97 years old. It was his car. His grand son is who I actually dealt with and the information that was given to me is that the grandfather bought this car over 17 years ago to "tinker" with. He bought it and parked in the garage to install a radar detector but had work on one of his properties that needed to be done. Being in his mid 80's at the time when he finished the work at the property. the car was put on the back burner. It was sitting in a garage for almost 16 years! Closed up and away from the weather. I am not sure if he had the repair work done or if the prior owner did. I did not see any frame damage anywhere on the car but I can see where there was body work done on the passenger doors. Possibly the post between them was replaced. It was sitting in a garage for almost 16 years! Closed up and away from the weather. I Bought the car and had it towed home. The diesel was drained out of the car. I installed new filters. changed fluids. filled the tank and pulled the glow plugs and shot some oil down the cylinders. Primed the pump. new battery and it fired right up! looking through the oil cap it certainly looks like 65k miles or less. I pulled the wheels and every single thing looked new or nearly new. The car went right through safety inspection and I put brand new Hancook Optima tires on it. This car has been repainted many years ago and any knowledgable about cars will be able to tell. This is a Non turbo 4 cylinder so it is no race horse by any means but who cares when it looks like this? Being picky I would say the transmission modulator needs adjustment because it upshifts too early for my taste. A few little dents and dings here and there but this car shows very well and commands attention wherever it goes. Stares. waves. and many (too many sometimes) conversations about it wherever I go. I accept cash and maybe other payments upon prior agreements. if you are the lucky winner of the bid I require a non refundable deposit of $500 within 24 hrs and payment within three days. Please make sure you have the funds and can access from your bank prior to bidding. I have had great experiences as a buyer and seller here on EBAY but the last two buyers really made life difficult by not having their funds ready. Once again please feel free to call or email with any questions. On Mar-10-15 at 04:47:32 PDT. seller added the following information:I am selling my 83' diesel.
