Description of 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1983 MERCEDES BENZ 380 SL.

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice 380 SL Convertible with no rust or accidents. This car was just purchased from it's owner in Northern California, the Bay Area. The car presents very nicely overall being extremely original and well preserved for being 36 years old.The body and paintwork on this car present beautifully with nice fitting/ opening and closing panels. At some point in it's life, the car received a quality repaint that is still showing quite well today. The car's rubber and brightwork are excellent, another sign that this car lived an easy life and possibly most of it indoors. The windscreen appears to be the original one.The car's 100% original interior shows the same story here. The original dashboard is excellent and is virtually uncracked, save for some typical hairline cracks forward of the dash vents. The comfortable seats look great and appear only nicely broken in. The carpets, door panels, rear stowage area, and console wood all look quite untouched and in lovely condition overall. There's only a small slit in the hardtop headliner located above the driver's seat. The car's original-looking dark brown cloth softtop looks excellent and well-preserved, and fits the car correctly.Mechanically, the car is great. It behaves very well out on the road for a car of this age/mileage.The engine starts easily on the key and idles smoothly. The gearbox feels very good and the car handles, steers, and brakes like a nice old reliable Mercedes. The previous indicated that the car now needs an air conditioning compressor, so we have adjusted the price to reflect that. We've tested the climate control system and all of the vents DO open and close properly.Overall, a beautiful, elegant, well-built, grand touring Mercedes Benz convertible that is truly amazing value in today's collector car market. This very genuine and well-preserved original car presents well in nice colors and has lived a gentle, well-taken-care-of life.
