Sitting since 1975 in a garage here in CT, this 1957 Mercedes Benz 220s sedan has been in hibernation 45 years off the road! The car was parked with the intent to work on & go thru to refresh so I`m told. During that time they jacked the car up on the oil pan and cracked it. The car sat & they got another oil pan but, never installed it & really never worked on the car. I have no idea why.. This 220s has 77xxx miles on it. Its a great restoration candidate. Very minimal rust thru as you can see. The lower hood ends & drivers front fender brow has the only rust thru on the out side. There`s some light dents oncthe body as well. The under side has light surface rust for the most part. There is rust thru in both inner rear rocker area or maybe its the unibody rail?, a couple inches long. Also the spare tire well has some holes. All the glass is great,The leather interior is original & aged. The wood garnish mouldings are in great shape! The chrome ashtrays are gleaming! The wood dash is in excellent condition as well along with the speed, radio, wood on the ash tray & all switches. Headliner is deteriorated. Engine is the original 6cyl & complete & unmolested. It is now stuck from sitting. I did fill the cylinders with oil to help in freeing it up. The exhaust is complete, original & has NO rust thru, just light surface rust- I think its in great shape. The heater boxes were removed & are in the trunk & in very good condition . There`s many extra parts that come with the car in the trunk I haven`t even gone thru. Some are genuine tuneup parts, some extra stuff. I did find the original tool kit in the canvas wrap. The car rolls & steers fine. This car is sold with a BILL of sale ONLY. Here in Connecticut we do not issue titles for cars older than 20 YEARS.
