1981 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster Up for sale is my 1981 Mercedes-Benz 280SL. This is the European version of the r107 roadster featuring the more desirable European chrome bumpers and Euro-Headlights as well as a double overhead cam 6 cylinder engine. For many collectors this is one of the best variants of the r107 body style. Much more attractive than the US version, this the way it was originally designed before DOT changes to the headlights and bumpers. This vehicle was legally imported in the US via dealer Gray Market imports. European VIN is WDB10704212010594, it is a 1981 not a 1980. Very presentable condition, the car runs and drives. Brakes are good and recently serviced. Transmission shifts well and operates as it should. Engine runs well. Body is in very good condition, some small dings and minor road chips. Interior is presentable but it is the original and does show its age in the cracks in the leather seats as well as cracks in the dashboard currently covered by the dashcover. Soft top is the orignal factory top and in excellent condition, some rubber seals are old however. Good over all car. It is a 40 year old automobile, minor quirks and imperfections to be expected. Described to the best of my ability. A very modest reserve has been set so please bid with confidence. Shipping is the responsibility and at the charge of the buyer, you can provide you own shipper or I can point you in the direction of one if needed. International buyers welcome. Shipping is quick and easy via Matson or Pasha. Costs to the West Coast are about $950, East coast +/-$1700. Shipping to Europe is about $2800.
