Description of 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 300 SD Turbo Diesel

1983 Mercedes Benz 300SDVery Clean! All Original! Drives Great!No Reserve Auction!
Here is a very clean and all original 1983 Mercedes Benz 300SD. This is a beautiful example of an unmolested original 300SD. We are offering this vehicle on one of our no reserve auctions and we will sell to the high bidder. Please review the description and feel free to reach out for further information. The current condition of this vehicle makes it a great candidate for preservation in a garage as this diesel model is getting harder and harder to find in this condition.
This exterior of this Benz is finished in the original charcoal grey metallic paint color. The overall condition of the exterior is excellent for the age. There is evidence of previous paint work but all panels are original; and the paint match is excellent. Factory Bundt wheels with a matching set of Michelin tires in excellent condition. All glass, plastics, lenses and trim are in good condition. All handles and latches are in good working order. The exterior is very nice looking and will stand tall at any Country Clubs valet.
The interior is in great condition as well; finished in black leather. The leather is in very good condition throughout with no rips or tears. MB Tex was the common seating material, leather was rare and to find it in this condition is even more of a treat. The drivers seat showed wear on the upper outer bolster and since the photos were taken has been professionally dyed to match and now looks great. All other materials including door panels, carpet, and other trim panels/pieces are in great condition, the dashboard has one very minor hairline crack on the left side where the speaker cover meets the dashboard, very common in this model. The wood is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading, this car clearly spent its time indoors when it wasn'ton the road. All climate control functions are in working order with air blowing from selected vents. The AC is not blowing cold, the heater is working. Other factory options including power seats, cruise control, vacuum locks, power windows, power antenna and sunroof are all working as designed.
Mechanically speaking this vehicle is solid. It does start very easily, idles smooth and drives out exactly like it should with a solid feel, the turbo and engine are strong. The transmission is great and shifts just like it should. This vehicle tracks down the road straight and there are no shimmies or vibrations at all.
