This model includes a solid running OM617 turbo diesel inline 5 engine. The 5spd manual transmission shifts smoothly from gear to gear. The differentials and transfer case are quiet and the brakes work properly without any strange noises, vibrations, or vacuum leaks. The hydraulic factory lockers are all operational as well. The engine was upgraded from the smaller 2.4 Liter engine and was rebadged 300gd to match the engine. All of the lights and gauges work correctly, the headlights were upgraded to newer generation LED G-wagon lights. The wheels were upgraded to heavier duty 16†Hutchinson bead-lock wheels which were a bit pricey with 90% tread remaining Goodyear Wrangler tires. This model did not come equipped with A/C but many easily installed aftermarket options are available. The soft top is newer and in excellent condition, all straps and tie downs in place and does not have any flaws or issues. Reupholstered front and rear seats with higher density padding are installed, rear captains chairs as well. The door cards were replaced and are in excellent condition as well as the leather steering wheel. The floor is completely bed lined and the interior for the most part is waterproof and can be rinsed out to be cleaned. The body is in good condition with normal dings but nothing unusual and no indication of accident damage. The hood has been touched up in places. The underside is rust free as seen in the photos and overall in good shape. Some surface rust noted on the tow hitch but normal. The underside is pretty clean, no leaks from diffs/transfer case. There is a minor oil leak on the pan, maybe one or two drips every couple weeks which is basically standard for this generation Mercedes. Mechanically the rest of this 300GD is in good shape, it does not have any weird noises or issues requiring attention. You can drive and enjoy right away. This truck starts right up, drives, and tracks straight down the road. It has a presence and draws attention wherever it goes.
