Nicknamed der Panzerwagen “Armored Car” weighing in at more than 3. 00 pounds was a completely new body shape for model year 1972. A completely new SOHC 4. 5 litre V8 engine was housed underneath the long sculpted hood and mated to a 3-Speed automatic transmission. 1981 model year saw the launch of the 380SL model. which introduced the new aluminum 3. 8 litre V8 engine. It was much lighter and more efficient but still retained its predecessor’s excellent performance characteristics. With more luxury refinements and driver comforts. the 380SL became the must have luxury performance roadster. However which way the driver chose to drive the car. hardtop. soft top or top down. the SL was the epitome of classic luxury sports motoring. European Motor Studio is proud to offer this beautiful 1982 Mercedes-Benz 380SL finished in Champagne Metallic over Palomino leather interior. This SL left the Mercedes-Benz production line in December of 1981 and invoiced to Mercedes-Benz North America. The car sold new in to its first owner in 1982 and has only covered 62. 49 miles from new. The beautiful Champagne Metallic paint shows beautifully and does not have any fade or damage to it. The body is straight and completely dent and rust free. The leather interior of the car is in excellent condition and shows minimal wear to the driver and passenger seats. The carpeting is in excellent condition and very clean and stain free. The original dash top is in excellent condition and does not have any cracks or shrinkage. The wood is in excellent condition and free from any cracks or fade. All of the switchgear is in great shape and showing minimal wear. All of the electronics in the car appear to be functioning as designed including the headlights. taillights. side marker lights. brake lights. turn signals. reverse lights. interior lights and dash lights. The radio is functioning along with the factory power antenna. The A/C is blowing cold. the cruise control is working properly. the power windows are operating as they should and the power door locks are functioning as designed. The convertible top is in excellent condition with no tears or separation. The headliner on both the convertible top and softop are in great shape showing minimal wear. The tires are brand new Michelin’s and the original Mercedes Bundt wheels showing almost no wear. The car starts right up and does not smoke or leak any fluids. The engine feels very strong and idles smoothly. The transmission shifts smoothly into gear and shows no signs of thumping or clunking. Upon acceleration the engine pulls very strong and smooth and the transmission shifts well through all of the gears. The brakes. suspension and steering all feel solid and free from any major issues. The car has a clean and clear Carfax and has never been involved in an accident. The title is clean and clear and is an actual miles title. This is an excellent running and driving 380SL finished in a beautiful color of Champagne Metallic.
