Description of 1969 Mercedes-Benz S-Class SE

Collector level example of desirable late 1960's period low grill S-class Mercedes CoupeThis vehicle is the last series to be crafted as a coach rather than as a high production automobile and everything on the vehicle is constructed to a very high level of quality and detail. The fit and finish on this car is exceptional and all original. The vehicle has been on the West coast USA since new. and the seller is the 2nd owner to have the car. Vehicle has always been garaged and only driven on dry roads during sunny. summertime / Autumn dry days and evenings. The only parts on this car that are not absolutely 100% original from the day it left the factory are:1. The gorgeous wood trim: there are a couple of pieces that were restored several years back by a very reputable Mercedes wood restoration professional. 2. The paint: The vehicle has received one very high quality multi stage repaint. which included removal of all trim and glass in the original Mercedes paint code. This was done over 20 years ago. Other than those two things. the car is absolutely all original. No accidents everPerfect Panel fit including the very long doors which open close like a piece of fine jewelry. the latch and hinges are so perfectly engineered. Pulling up all carpets reveals clean original floors. with no patches. no rust. no repair marks. no welds. Rocker panels are solid and perfect. no repairs. no bondo. no filler. no welds. Engine bay is all original. no major repairs ever. just maintenance. Front headlight buckets were sealed a long time ago as a preventative. underneath fenders and in and out of buckets is solid and perfect. Rear quarters are excellent. look close to new (but are original from 1969)Trunk floor. and side pits are perfect. Gearbox shifts smooth up and down and in and out of neutral. No vibrations or weird noises. very tight car that would make an outstanding vintage rally event car. Some tiny light corrosion on the tubes going around the top of the engine. please see photo. purely just surface. some light corrosion on the painted surface of the brake booster. Optima dry cell battery. red top. Original clock and radio intact and functional. Clean Redline in the rear differential and gearbox since owned. Seats and door panels have some light patina and very mild differences in color tone. just from age. Seals and Rubber in excellent condition. not dried out. not cracked apart. no leaks. no whistles. Car was never left out in the sun to bake. and the interior shows this. especially the perfect dash. Car starts. runs. drives. brakes. steers. handles as a tight original S class should. 93. 50 current mileage is actual. original. and documented with 2 owner history. Seats are in very nice condition with no tears or major wear. Front seats have been covered almost since new. and under the covers they are incredible. The current owner knows a lot about machines and european engines. etc. I am helping to market this car for a fellow that hosts bi-annually one of our most amazing Mercedes club events at his farm. The farm needs an emergency repair. He has owned many Mercedes and other interesting European vehicles and tractors and has been able to keep up on all maintenance in a top notch manner. Since I have experience as a National Concours D'Elegance judge for Mercedes (this year is my third time). I offered to check this car out and try to help find someone to give it the care and love it deserves as well as to assist our good friend of the Mercedes club to and keep our club events going at his family farm in Oregon. This car was purchased for the wife as a treat to use here and there to run to town or the farmer's market. and it has done these little trips over the past many years bringing her great joy. But she has moved onto other interests and has given permission for this vehicle to be one of a few things sold off to pay for the urgent farm repairs. This farm has been in the family for generations and it is imperative with 2 kids in college to keep it going strong. Although I am posting the sale here on my ebay account for the owner. the buyer is welcome to speak directly with the seller and also meet directly with the seller. I am taking no profit and just helping to put the car out there on the market. I am happy to take your questions and field inquiries. If anyone wants to inspect the car in person. that can certainly be arranged and we by all means encourage it. If you would like to send a 3rd party or classic mercedes expert appraiser. please let us know. we welcome it. We hope to find a buyer for this car by mid-May. Thank you for your interest. Please note. I have been buying and selling on ebay since 1998 with no problems. you can take great trust in this listing or any that I put on ebay. If you do not have excellent feedback history please do not bid or make offers on this car. Please make sure you have the cash in full for the vehicle already in your hand if you decide to submit an offer. This is in fairness not only to the seller but also to other potential buyers on ebay and in the Mercedes club. There is also a classic BMW motorcycle from this same owner. which is 2 owner. all original. Please contact me if interested.
