Description of 1974 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series

This beautiful Mercedes has spent most of its garaged life in Arizona so consequently it is rust free. An extensive and expensive major refit has been done to make this car a reliable daily driver/fast appreciating classic car. *1* The engine's cylinder head was rebuilt with new valves. *2* The troublesome Solex carburetor has been replaced with a new weber carburetor and intake manifold conversion for better reliability and efficiency. *3* The a/c system is a new modern type 134A. the components replaced are as follows. new compressor. new high and low pressure hoses. new receiver dryer. new expansion valve. The condenser and evaporator have been flushed clean. *4* The cooling system. new water pump. new radiator and all hoses. ew heater core. in essence the complete cooling system has been replaced. *5* A new starter and a new alternator have been installed. *6* The exhaust system from the muffler on to the back pipe is new. *7* The brakes are completely redone. all flexible hoses are new. the master cylinder is new. the power assist booster and vacuum pump are rebuilt. he calipers front and rear are rebuilt. premium pads have been fitted and the system now uses d. o. t 5 silicone brake fluid. *8* The tires are 3 months new. *9* The sound system is unbelievable almost as good as the metropolitan opera house. but for the enthusiast i do still have the original Becker radio.
