Description of 1953 Mercury Monterey

1953 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop Mild Custom Restomod
Drive train has been swapped with a 351 Windsor with AOD tranny with New B&M shifter
Has Brand new 2 barrel carb and gets pretty good gas mileage with the overdrive tranny.
Has disc brake conversion on front with a dual manual master cylinder.
It has Manual steering also.
Flowmaster exhaust, umped underneath just before the rear end.
Paint is a good 10 footer, ut is starting to show wear and tear. It is a driver not a trailer queen.
Interior is in decent shape. The original seats have been swapped out with nice seats out of 80's Buick. Really comfortable setup.
all of the glass is good and windows all work properly.
It has been switched to 12 volt as well.
Dash gauges are not hooked up, ut there are after market gauges under the dash.
The windshield wiper motor is not on the car either, ut i do have the linkages and the wipers are already on the car.
The trunk has been shaved and has an electric popper with a switch under the dash. The key doesn't work in the door locks. May be froze or needs new locks.
the passenger side exhaust donut gasket is leaking, ut if i get a chance i will fix before the Merc is picked up. Cant promise though.
frame is solid, loors are solid. trunk has a spot where previous owner had cut it out to get to fuel tank, m guessing.
there rear wheel wells have been trimmed out to clear bigger tires sometime in the past also.
The Merc is a very solid car and good turn key driver! but with that being said, o not expect a restored show car.
The Merc will come with the black steel wheels. The staggered American Muscle wheels may be purchased separately if they are still available at end of auction.
