Description of 1954 Mercury Monterey

I am selling this car for a friend. This car is right out of the 60's. It was done a long time ago and still looks great going down the street. It has all the features you would have wanted in a 60's custom. Shaved door handles shaved trunk lid, ush button door popperscontinentalkit, lass packs skirts custom dash knobs wide whites, and all. The car belonged to a close friend of mine for about 20 years and was sold to my neighbor across the street about 3 years ago. I am a old car junkie so when the neighbor decided to sell the Merc, volunteeredto put it on e-bay for her.I have been around the car for a long time and can answer any questions you have on it. Iencouragebidders to look at the car before bidding but sometimes it is not easy to do. The car looks great going down the road. It draws a lot of attention at the car shows andcruisenights. I will start with the bad. There is some rust pin holes under one of the headlight bezels. The doors have rust in the bottom hem flange on both sides. There is someevidenceof a repair in the right rear quarter panel. The rest of the car looks good. The interior isexcellentwith all the door trim and side panels looking great. The power top works great and the top and boot are in very nice condition (the top boot is new) The engine was rebuilt by the guy that had the car 20 years ago and it probably has been driven about 7 or 8 thousand miles. It runs great drives good and stops good. It does not smoke or knock at all. It does not have power steering. I was going to replace the doors on the car but never got around to it. the car is very presentable right now and the work that needs to be done can be done a little at a timewhileyou drive and enjoy thisbeauty. Here are some of the things that are included. I go to Albuquerque a lot and picked up a bunch of sheet metal off of a dry desert car. I have a complete front clip less the hood, very nice doors We got the vent window frames replated, e have a pair of new chrome taillight bezels and a bunch of small stuff. There is one power window that is not working but we have a box with a set of window drives and switches we got from acollectora few years back. I also have a steering column upper end with the correct turn signal switches in it to replace the after market turn signal lever on the column. This car does NOT need all the parts that are coming with it. The sheet metal parts I have were stripped and ready for primer. If you have questions I will answer them for you. The car had been inside for at least the last 23 years . I will not forward any money (I have heard that one already)
