Description of 1961 Mercury Comet

Here is a 1961 Mercury Comet Wagon 2-DR. They made less than 3000 of these cars from 1960 - 1963. If you know the history of this car. Ford was going to add this to the mercury line as a copy of the Ford Edsel but because it wasn't selling well at the time they marketed it as a mercury. The first two years they didn't put any mercury symbols on the car. As it grew in popularity they added them later. This chassis is the platform the mustang and falcon where built off of. Parts from these cars from 1960 - 1968 will fit. This is a rust-free. numbers matching. nbsp;Arizona classic car that is complete. but needs TOTAL restoration and is not in running or driving condition. The pictures speak for themselves. I purchased the car with the intent to restore it but as life changes so do my plans. I need to sell it. The motor does run and the transmission does work but the car is not road worthy. It is 99% complete as in all the parts are present. it is missing a few trim pieces and the rear seat. I striped and cleaned the underside and interior floor. Both coated with POR-15. all glass is intact and clear. the interior has been removed and bagged and tagged. There are two very small holes in the floor less than a inch each. Currently the car in stored in my garage. cover and dry for the winter but if purchased can be removed easily. The pictures are from when i got it from Arizona and the two in the grass are at my home. The car does come with a clear title. I also have a few pats i have purchased for the reiteration.
