Description of 1984 Mercury Cougar 2 Door

This is a very rare color Cougar from the past. The fact that it has only been driven 37000 miles is even rarer. This is a one owner car that was purchased in November 1984. The original owners purchased this fun coupe when they were in their youthful mid 50's. Nothing cosmetically has been done to it. It is all original. The spot on the hood is so small that I touched it up and is not requiring of any further work. The vinyl roof had aged so I had it refinished and it looks fantastic. If I were going to keep, I would go a little further to make it perfect because the rest of the car is in such great shape. This is a fun car to drive anywhere. You can't go anywhere without curious lookers asking questions. All options work as they should. This is a nicely equipped car from the mid 80's. The powers seats, windows, locks, mirrors, cruise control, tilt wheel, leather wrapped steering wheel, wire wheel covers were a very popular popular option package. Also has AM FM stereo radio. It even has a quartz clock that is still working, however, you cannot change the time. That is the only option that is not properly working. The power trunk opener and fuel door opener also work properly. I am retired and would keep this car. It is a car that you can get attached to easily. The six cylinder fires right up at is very responsive as it was when new. Once again, the tires are very old and should be replaced before driving. If you wish to drive it home, I can have tires put on at an additional cost. If you are transporting, you will be ok. They are a good looking set of tires that I think may be original but they have dry rot and that is not good. This would be a great collector car or something you may want to use as a daily driver. Either way, the AC has all been updated with a new compressor and condenser and even the drive belts. It starts right up on first try and is very quiet. Thanks for looking and car comes with no warranty of course and I will help you find transporter if needed.
