I AM PLEASED TO LIST THIS GREAT LITTLE 66 COMET. AS MOST OF YOU KNOW THE COMETS ARE VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION. THERE ARE SEVERAL FAIRLANES FOR EVERY COMET AND PARTS ARE UNICORNS. THIS ONE RUNS AND DRIVES EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. THE 351 IS REBUILT AND THE TREMEC 5 SPEED IS IN GREAT SHAPE. SHIFTING AND CRUISING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IS EASY. THE CARBURETOR IS A 650 HOLLEY AND IT HAS AN HEI DISTRIBUTOR. WE OPTED TO INSTALL THE SPECTRE BILLET ALUMINUM AIR BONNET WITH K&N FILTER CONE. THE ELECTRIC FAN KEEPS THIS CAR AT 180 DEGREES IN 100 PLUS DEGREE WEATHER. IT HAS DUAL FLOWMASTER EXHAUST AND FRESH VIKING RED PAINT IN BASE CLEAR. WE USED A GALLON OF NASON BASE AND A GALLON OF NASON 438 SELECT CLEAR COAT ON THIS BEAST. IT LOOKS GREAT BUT WILL BE CUT AND BUFFED PRIOR TO SHIPPING OUT. THE BODY SEEMS TO BE OK WITH NO APPARENT RUST ISSUES. THERE ARE SOME PINHOLES IN THE FLOOR PANS THAT LOOK PATCHED BUT THEY ARE SMALL AND I INCLUDED A "BEFORE" AND AFTER PIC OF THE PANS AND UNDERSIDE. WE ARE WAITING FOR A NEW WIPER SWITCH BUT ELECTRICALLY IT'S VERY GOOD. THE GAUGES WORK AND THE TACH IS NEW. THE WINDOW WIPERS WORK ON A TOGGLE BUT WE PREFER THE FACTORY SWITCHING.WE INSTALLED A NEW KENWOOD EXCELON BLU TOOTH STEREO WITH NEW HIGH OUTPUT 6X9'S IN A NEW PACKAGE TRAY. THE UPHOLSTERY IS OK BUT THE DRIVERS SEAT NEEDS SLIGHT REPAIR WHERE THERE IS A BLEMISH AND THE REAR OF THE HEADLINER IS TORN IN ONE SPOT AT THE WINDOW RUBBER. THE GLASS IS EXCELLENT AND ORIGINAL CARLITE. THE DOOR UPHOLSTERY IS AFTERMARKET FAIRLANE PANELS BUT THE DASH IS ORIGINAL. DRIVING THIS COMET IS A JOY. SINCE PARTS ARE SO HARD TO FIND WE PAINTED A FIBERGLASS CRITES FRONT BUMPER AND PAINTED THE ORIGINAL REAR STEEL BUMPER TO MATCH. IT LOOKS FINE BUT NEW CHROME BUMPERS SEEM TO BE UNICORNS AS WELL AND I ACTUALLY LIKE THE PAINTED LOOK BETTER. THERE IS PITTING ON THE TAIL LIGHT BEZELS BUT EVERYTHING WORKS. I HAVEN'T OPENED UP THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BUT BOTH TIRES SPIN WHEN YOU HAMMER IT SLIGHTLY(LOL). IT'S FAST! WE ALSO INSTALLED NEW BFG TA RADIALS 235-60R15 IN THE REAR AND 215-60R15 IN THE FRONT ON POLICE INTERCEPTOR WHEELS. I PERSONALLY LOVE THE LOOK. THE COMET GETS A LOT OF ATTENTION ON THE ROAD.
