Description of 1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible

A RARE FIND!! TWO 1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 2-door Convertibles that share same original owner. True survivor cars. Always garage kept in Jacksonville, FL, rust-free, clear titles, original 351-2V Cleveland 2-barrel engines & optional C-6 automatic transmissions. RED is the last custom-ordered XR-7 convertible delivered by North Florida Lincoln-Mercury (Dealer # 23) to buyer on July 9, 1973 before Mercury halted production. This car comes with 35 items of original provenance. Only 3,165 were made. You'll own TWO of them.

RED has white interior & white top. Original factory warranty card with metal data plate shows: VIN: 3F94H575263, Color: 2B (Bright Red), Dealer: 23 (NFLM), Body: 76F (XR-7 2 door Convertible), Trim: DW (Black Natural Leather and Matteo Vinyl * (the asterisk indicates it was special order White interior with black accents), Scheduled Build Date: 20F (June 20, 1973), Axle: 2 (2.75 non-locking), Transmission: U (C-6 Automatic, and a J (which is a mystery to us).

With 26,660 original miles by the original owner, the car was placed in dry storage for over 35 years. Dad acquired it made the repairs to bring it up to modern safety standards. Left in as original condition as possible. All optional equipment still works: factory A/C & heater, power steering, power brakes, and radio. Parts replaced: brake master cylinder, front brake calibers, rear wheel cylinders, gas tank and sending unit, fuel pump, radiator, heater core, AC compressor and condenser, AC dryer, starter, and battery. Magnum 500 sport wheels. Odometer today shows 37,732 original miles. The car runs perfectly.
