Description for Mercury Cougar 1970

1970 MERCURY XR-7 CONVERTIBLE210-548-1310 San Antonio TEXAS

Howdy from San Antonio, I have here a 1970 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible. Its an M code 351 Cleveland factory 4 barrel car. I have known of this car for many years and finally was able to buy it. But, I have some other great cars and have decided to sell her.

The car runs, drives and stops. It has a very nice body with no known dings or dents. The interior appears to me to be totally original and in over all very nice shape. There are a few pieces of plastic trim inside that are broken and the car needs a new carpet kit.

The car had an engine replacement a few years ago with a 351 Cleveland 2 barrel, but the original engine I have and it comes with the car. So....you can drive and enjoy while having the original engine rebuilt.

The car has buckets seats and center console, factory working air conditioning, a working factory tachometer etc. The original 4 barrel carburetor is newly rebuilt and in the trunk along with the original 4 barrel air cleaner.

The original floors are solid, the only rust issue I’ve seen is on the lower passenger side rear quarter in back of the tire.

The car was originally classic white. The car could use a paint job. It’s a pretty awesome car. The top has a cut in it and should be replaced. I’m in San Antonio Texas, please call with any questions, before bidding. 210-548-1310 Hawkeye. Thanks!!!

Thanks for your interest and or winning bid. I hunt vintage cars and trucks across the great state of Texas, have since 2004. Most of what I find are rare and unique vintage vehicles, and generally over 40 years old. Most will have scratches, dings, dents and yes rust at some level. I do my best to accurately describe what I see. During the auction is the time to call or write with your questions or concerns, not afterwards. My phone number in San Antonio is 210-548-1310. I’m friendly and easy to work with. I’m also happy to help get your vehicle loaded when your shipper arrives or help when there is a missing title situation. A non-refundable deposit of $700.00 usd is due at auction end. The balance within a week via cash in person or wire transfer. Again thanks for your interest!
