1953 was the final year of production on the MG TD Mark II, ith only about 1,700 cars produced over the course of 4 years; it's safe to say that this car hasn't ever been a common sight. Usually rarity alone is what makes a car special, ut not in this case. This particular example is special because it is a true survivor car! This car was in storage for over three decades before we came into its possession recently. With that in mind, here are a few issues with the car. The paintwork is showing its age, ppearing with a dull finish and chips missing throughout the body. There is also surface rust on multiple areas along the body of the car, owever the car appears to be very solid. The trim work on the car is in similar condition, ith the rear bumper having surface rust and pitting, he front bumper has pitting and the rest of the exterior brightwork could use some TLC. The interior of the car is in good shape for its age and time spent in storage but again is not without its issues. Specifically the seats in a few areas are splitting at the stitching and there is some pitting on the trim rings around the gauges. The gauges faces themselves are still in fantastic shape. The top and side curtains are in amazing shape for their age, ith no visible issues and only some minor blemishes. Mechanically the car does not run or drive, nd the engine does not currently turn over, e have put some Marvel's Mystery Oil into the cylinders in order to free them up. The wheels on the car are in good shape for their age, ith only surface rust being an issue. The tires on the car still hold air, owever because of the length of storage time, t's recommended that they be replaced. Overall this is a wonderful example of a true survivor car. It's ready for a complete restoration or even just getting it running and leaving it as is.
