Description of 1976 MG Midget

Up for auction and selling without reserve is a beautiful 1976 MG Midget with its rust free original Glacier white paint and only 29,400 miles!
If you've ever wanted an outstanding unmolested honest rust free example this is it. I am a huge vintage sports car fan and VERY picky myself and waited a long time to own one that met all my requirements. Unfortunately due to financial reasons and loss of my heated storage I must sell her....my loss will be someone else's windfall!
Note: The car is not listed locally and there is NO RESERVE so high Ebay bidder wins it!
This car starts right up and purrs without missing, nocking, r blowing smoke. All gauges operate as they should. My last 70 mile trip the car drove like a champ with temperature well below the midline. Brakes are good and steering is tight without any play at all! Car drives straight as an arrow. Her 4 speed manual transmission is tight and smooth, nd every time I drive her I am amazed at how awesome it goes through the gears!
The original tires were replaced last summer since after 40 years they started to show dry rot and the 4 new ones have less than 200 miles on them! The spare has the original tire still on it.
She has an optional wood MG logo shift knobbut I have the original too, s well as all the manuals and car sales brochures. This car was professionally rust proofed the day it was delivered to the original owner in 1977, nd you can still see the evidence in the doors and underneath! Please look at my pictures of the door areas....there is NO rust....what you see is paint loss, rease, nd the yellowing of the original rust proofing! In other words it has the honest patina one would expect after 40 years!
The paint has not been buffed out either, hich would really bring out the beauty of the original glacier white color. There are a couple of minor dings mostly on the drivers side door but only visible at a certain angle but nothing severe at all. The paint shows some "thinning " near the door handles. There are a couple of touch up spots the previous owner did to protect the car after minor chips from driving.
The original carpet while overall is in good shape does have wear on the driver and passenger side floor area. The MG logo rubber floor mats cover most of the wear and they are in near new condition! My plan was to replace the carpet at some point but that's just me.
The dash has NO cracks and the seats are excellent too!The doors line up perfectly and close with a thud!
The convertible top is in very good vintage condition and functions as it should. The clear plastic windows are in good shape too, nd the tonneau cover is excellent! The boot cover is missing two rear snaps and has a repair but it still is functional and presents itself well.
I could go on and on about the car because she is such a joy to own.
I have tried to give you as much information as I could for you to evaluate but ask any questions and I will be more than happy to answer them.
GOOD LUCK BIDDING!
