Description of 1962 MG MGA Wire Wheels

This is being re-listed due to winning bidder did not have money to pay for the car.
Please only bid if you intend to purchase this car
Up for auction is my 1962 MGA MKII wire wheel Roadster. This car is for sale locally so auction may end early. This is very complete car with very few things missing, t does have a convertible top frame but no fabric on it, lease see pictures. What you see in the pictures is what you get, lease ask any questions about items you don't see or can not make out in the pictures. This car does not have any frame rust and the panels are in pretty good shape. The front clip does have rust where the body and fenders meet on both sides, eems to be an easy fix. The engine is a 1500, do not know when or why the 1622 engine was changed, he engine turns freely by hand or by a battery, have not tried to start this car but I have changed the oil and cleaned out the carbs, ith little work it should fire right up. There is a low reserve on this car, live 30 miles south of Cincinnati Ohio and 2 miles off I-75 easy on and off the interstate. I can assist in loading but can not deliver. This is a great car for restoration and deserves to be back on the road.
There is a $500.00 non refundable deposit to be paid through pay pal within 48 hours of auction end and rest to be paid 7 days after auction and before car is loaded and title changed hands. I can hold car up to 2 weeks if needed for pickup after payment is made.
Here is some info about the MGA's:
The MGA design dates back to 1951, hen MG designer Syd Enever created a streamlined body for George Philips' TD Le Mans car. The problem with this car was the high seating position of the driver because of the limitations of using the TD chassis. A new chassis was designed with the side members further apart and the floor attached to the bottom rather than the top of the frame sections. A prototype was built and shown to the BMC chairman Leonard Lord. He turned down the idea of producing the new car as he had just signed a deal with Donald Healey to produce Austin-Healey cars two weeks before. Falling sales of the traditional MG models caused a change of heart, nd the car, nitially to be called the UA-series, as brought back. As it was so different from the older MG models it was called the MGA, he "first of a new line" to quote the contemporary advertising. There was also a new engine available, therefore the car did not have the originally intended XPAG unit but was fitted with the BMC corporate B-Series type allowing a lower bonnet line. The MGA convertible had no exterior door handles, owever the coupe has door handles.[4]
An inset grille and Morris Mini tail lamps appearing horizontally below the deck lid were the most obvious visual changes. 8,198 Mark II roadsters and 521 coupés were built.[5]
Road & Track magazine reviewed the MG A 1600 Mark II in the September 1961 issue and reported an estimated top speed of 105mph and a 0-60 acceleration of 12.8 seconds.
