Description of 1968 MG MGB

1968 MGB Roadster-Rusty. As you will see in the photos, he underside rust is limited to the sills and floors. The leaf spring, uspension and jacking connections are quite solid. To restore, t would also need a door and a fender. The bonnet is the original aluminum type, hile not the best, t looks to be workable. The engine runs very well. It was purportedly rebuilt 5 years ago but we have no documentation backing that up. What we do have is a compression test we performed which resulted in the following numbers:1) 1602) 1503) 1504) 155These numbers, long with 50 pounds of oil pressure at idle with the engine hot, ack of any disconcerting noises and the eager power, ake us pretty sure the engine was in fact rebuilt not too many miles ago.The engine starts readily, he non-overdrive gearbox shifts into all four forward gears (and reverse) without a fuss and the car drives surprisingly smoothly. The brakes even work well. No, his car is NOT pretty. We purchased her as a parts car but once she arrived here at the shop and revived her, he started talking to us. She is not ready for the parts heap yet. Of course, hatever you do with her is your business but we thought we would offer her up on Ebay just to give her one more chance. The side windows are clear and not scratched. The windshield frame is very good while the windshield itself is cloudy around the edges to the point of needing replacement. The dash would actually be very nice with the installation of a Coverlay and all the gauges work as they should. You can see the steering wheel is very nice in the pictures. I don't know when the car got those early seats, ut they could be really cool re-done.I would trailer her home as she has not been driven regularly in over 3 years. Please feel free to email with questions and thanks for looking. Merry Christmas everybody!
