Description of 1959 MG MGA racer

1959 MGA barn find. nbsp; ex period SCCA prepared racer with updated 1622. speedster windshield. roll bar. harkenback Auster wire mesh grille. period aircraft seat belts. last titled 1978. not driven since. Washington State licensed recently. second owner. purchased new in California & prepared for racing of the 1960's. found in dry secured Central Valley near Sacramento this last summer. obtained from long time second owner. had cracked cylinder head in 1978 so sat unused since then. sympathetic preservation of original period components. not a restoration. older repaint in correct Orient Red. nice patina now with caricature nicks. chips & minor dings. very presentable. I would keep it as is. never damaged. never wrecked. frame is straight & excellent in used condition with no damage. no cancer. only understandable patina surface blemishes of a car of this age having little wet weather & no salted road use. New B25 big valve cylinder head assembly with guides. valves. springs. rocker shaft & rebushed rockers. new rings on period Jahn's pistons. new standard size rod bearings. Has oil cooler. spin-on filter added. oil pump inspected & deemed good. oil system cleaned & flushed. excellent oil pressure. Headers. nbsp; larger 1 3/4" S U carbs with matching large manifold. screened velocity stacks. working choke. muffler exhaust. prepared to 'prodified' SCCA period racing specifications. matched. balanced. bored. stage 4 per MG racing manual. very original. nbsp;excellent compression. no oil smoke. break- in miles only. starts. runs. stops as it should. added amp & oil temp gauges on period. special ( MG Mitten? ) wood veneer dash. dual Walpress racing mirrors. Amco wood shift knob. racing flip up gas cap. hood & trunk pins. chrome valve cover. Vilem B. Haan period leather alloy spoke racing steering wheel. new brake/clutch master cylinder. new slave. all hydraulic hoses. new front disc brake pistons. seals & pads. new rear cyls. hardware & shoes. all fluids/ lines cleaned & flushed. gas tank is clean & shiney. new fuel pump & filter. nbsp; lines cleaned & flushed. new carb gaskets. cleaned & adjusted. heavy duty clutch. Detroit locker differential. 4. 30:1 gears w/10 spline axles. nbsp;w/new seal & axle seals. new fluid of course as has smooth shifting. no noises transmission. front & rear sway bars. optional rear Koni adjustable shocks. period MINILIGHT alloy rims in straight. undamaged condition. old period chrome fire extinguisher. new water pump & t-stat. radiator & cooling system cleaned & flushed. new 50/50 coolant. new rad & heater hoses & clamps. booster electric fan added ahead of radiator. engine runs cool. stock heater still retained. new gear reduction starter. recent new battery. system changed to negative ground. new points & condenser. new NGK plugs. new voltage regulator. generator cleaned & tested & has proper output. original black leather seats. matching headrest on roll bar. good door panels. carpers original & useable. wood floor boards original & in very good condition. original old car smell. all body panels original as are very good chrome bumpers & emblems. 56 year old patina paint cleans up nicely. stock tall windshield w/ no damage or cracks included as are faded side curtains. convertible top w/frame with car ( I would assume material has shrunk over the years ). rear window faded. wiper arms w/ new blades also. original vin plate w/ matching Washington State registration. BMIHT certificate included. (car built April 9-10 1959 USA destination specifications. California dealer delivery) original code ign cyl/switch with 2 new matching keys. tires are modern 185/65 x 15 miss-matched radials in confident & good street useable condition. no spare. engine crank handle & some trunk tools included. no jack. This is a TIME CAPSULE race car of period. strong SCCA specification racer. yet streetable. true recent BARN FIND. this is what a serious racer would have run in the day when most production cars were still driven to the track.
