Description of 1936 MG Other

For sale is a 1936 MGTA Q-type special. This car is fully restored and is ready to vintage race, bring to a car show or just enjoy a summer drive.

The MG Q-type (sometimes referred to as the MG QA) is a racing car that was produced by MG in 1934. The chassis was based on the one used on the MG K3 but was narrower and used N-type axles.

Probably only eight were made (Michael Sedgwick states nine) as the car was expensive at £550–£650, and the rigid-axle chassis had difficulty in dealing with the power of the engine. The single-seat version achieved a lap speed of 122mph (196km/h) at Brooklands race track driven by George Harvey-Noble, and the two-seater was capable of 120mph (190km/h).

This car is a hand formed aluminum replica of that race car. It is mounted on MGTA frame and running gear. the engine is a XPAG t-series mated to a MGTC gear box. This combination of engine and gear box will allow for the best of power and reliability.

Everything is either new or rebuilt using the finest material. Many of the parts are NOS or original. The frame was sandblasted, powder coated and started from there. This is a no expense spared restoration.

The photo’s speak for themselves. I am selling this car elsewhere and reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.

the car has no title. Vermont will not give a title to any car over 15yr old. I do have an old registration and and last years Vermont registration. Registration is proof of ownership in Vermont.
That said I will be selling the car with a bill of sale only.
