Description of 1959 MG MGA Racecar

We have had this 1959 MGA 1600 for about five years. It was purchased from the owners of Kim's Import Motors in Amsterdam, NY--who have built some of the fastest MGAs around for many years. This particular car was well appointed with upgraded suspension and brakes as shown in the photos below along with a performance master cylinder and hydraulics, fuel cell, hand turned aluminum catch tanks, roll bar, 72 spoke wire wheels balanced for the track, cut offs, etc.
The car is a 1600, and the motor was built by Kim's, although we do not know to exactly what spec. We have only had the car on the track twice since we have owned it as it was a spare car for us. It is not a front line car--it would be the perfect candidate to be both a race and a road car (with minor modifications).
If you are looking to get your entree into vintage racing, or want to have a race car in the garage for quick trips on nice roads, this is the perfect opportunity.
We have a fully appointed race and restoration shop in Rhode Island, Oxford Motorcars, where we can make any and all modifications that the new owner might require. This is one of six mga race cars that we campaign regularly and it could easily be made into a front of the pack type of car with only modest investment.
The car can be inspected at our shop and we encourage it! As it is a race car, it is sold on a bill of sale only.
