Description of 1969 MG MGB GT

1969 MGB GT California Car This car is a very nice driving chrome bumper MGB GT that still wears its original black and yellow license plates showing that it has been is California all its life. There is no rust anywhere that I can find. Floors are great. Dog legs may have been done but the rocker panels look original. The body is straight and it is British Racing Green. This car was built in 1968 and is GHD4U16XXX. Titled as a 69 in California as they are titled when they were sold. not built or imported. These GT’s are a popular touring version of the MGB and are very practical with their roof enabling year round use. The engine on this car starts easily with the choke and has 50 lbs. oil pressure. At hot idle it has a solid 40 lbs. No valve noise and it runs well. The brakes were done recently and work well. The clutch and four speed transmission are as they should be and it shifts well. It does not have overdrive. Tires are very good on chrome wire wheels. The car drives very well with a few minor rattles and bumps. Probably rear spring bushings. The interior is nice with the front seats redone and the rear seat original. The carpets have been done. It needs a better headliner and door panels to make it really nice. Paint the outside and you have a great little car with not a lot invested and you don’t have to take the whole car apart. You can keep driving the car and restore it as you wish.
