Description of 1975 MG Midget convertible

MG car body in nice condition. There have been some rust repairs previously done. The metal is very solid and body is straight there is no indication this car has ever been wrecked or repaired. Car is a rolling chassis with most parts to restore back to the original configuration. There are many boxes of parts not pictured that go along with the package. The seats and door panels are in good condition no cracks, tears, dash panel is mostly complete minus the speedometer. The original MG wood steering wheel is a $ 250 piece and in great shape. The gas tank is in great condition as well as all of the glass. Top frame and header also included. The hoo, seats, dash are all loose now, the pics with them on the body they are not bolted in, just set on the car for the pictures.I will sell the car separate without the motorcycle engine and gearbox if wanted.
My plan was to remove as much weight from the car as possible and mount the Yamaha V Max engine and gearbox in place of the stock motor and trans. I have lowered the V max into the engine compartment and it does fit without any cutting. The problems I see are that the oil filter is on the front center bottom of the V Max and there is a cross member that would need to be modified or the filter moved to a remote location. The other problem is the motor is taller than the stock inline engine and will require a different or fabricated air filter / airbox and possibly a hood scoop or a hole for the new airbox thru the hood.Shaft drive motorcycles generally have the wrong rotation for a car differential so I have bought a heavy duty 1 to 1 ratio gearbox that reverses the rotation so no modifications are necessary to the differential and the gear box fits with no mods to the car either. It will connect with a common 1" keyed yoke to the engine output U joint and the output shaft is a 1 1/4" shaft with a 1/4' key and can be adapted to the stock driveshaft.
The Yamaha V Max is a wonderful rugged V 4 engine that produces nearly 3 times the horsepower than the stock engine and more torque also. With the sequential shift on the V Max gearbox its a very simple arrangement to have a strait line shift lever in the car. As can be seen in the photo I have all of the engine accessories from the motorcycle gauge cluster, cooling system, ignition module, shifting lever, exhaust pipes, and the original owners manual and a book of the whole Yamaha V Max including wiring diagrams and all specifications. This video is what got me started, https://youtu.be/UsbfzmPCYX4
