Description of 1971 MG Midget

This MG was last on the road in 2005, in TN, before it was taken apart for restoration by the previous owner. It had been in his family since new in California, coming to TN in 2000. Unfortunately the title was lost, so it will be sold on a bill of sale. I do have the TN plate that it was last registered on.
Built in June of 1971 the car was originally Midnight Blue, it is now a shade of burgundy with a little flake in it, I believe it should return to blue, as that is a rare color. It is amazingly solid, with zero rust in the floors, sills, or the bottom of the A posts. It has some rust at the bottom of each rear fender, in the trunk, and the battery box. The doors are solid and shut very well. The chrome bumpers are in good shape and could be cleaned and used as is. One seat needs a new cover, the top is fine but the windows cloudy. The Midget has been stored indoors since 2005, when the engine came out.
The engine, which is the original one to the car, is completely disassembled. I don't see any damage to the engine parts beyond normal wear. The prior owner told me it ran fine but burned oil, not surprising for an older A-series engine. The original transmission and drive shaft are included, along with the carbs and air cleaners. The exhaust is an aftermarket twin tip design and in good condition. I believe all the parts needed to get the car back on the road are included. Please look closely at all the pictures, and ask questions.
I will include free delivery within 200 miles of my home in zip code 37034. I could deliver further for a reasonable fee which we would agree on before you bid, so let's discuss that before you bid please.
This is a very solid car that deserves to be saved, a good year for the Midget in a nice, (original), color. Bid with confidence, no reserve, and thank you.FYI, the previous buyer, in Ohio, backed out of the sale this morning due to health issues.
