1980 MGBOriginal and pristine example with only 19. 00 original miles. Offered for sale is an absolutely beautiful example of an original and pristine 1980 MGB. down to the factory Dunlop-SP40 tires. Original tires and rims are included along with brand new/reconditioned rims and brand new tires (on vehicle). 1980 was the last year MGB's were made. This car was purchased in 1980 from C&E Imports in Westmont. Illinois. and was sold to its second owner in 1981. This car was kept in a walk-out basement and treated as a member of the family until purchased in 2009. when engine improvements were completed. I purchased it in 2010. I have the original window sticker and service records that were provided to me. Below is a list of original features as well as any upgrades/services that have been performed:* Paint is original Brookland's Green. in excellent condition. No spider cracks. * Convertible roof is original and in like-new condition. No rips. tears. or discoloration of rear window. * Boot cover is original and is in mint condition. * Tonneau cover is original. Leather is in mint condition. but center zipper has failed. * Interior is original. "Autumn Leaf" leather with black carpeting. * Dash is perfect. with no cracks. and shines like new. * Original AM/FM 8-track player with original speakers. including 8 original 8-track tapes!* Tires are original Dunlop SP40's from the factory. I have put new rims and tires on. but old tires and rims come with purchase. * Motor is original and extremely strong. with rare "overdrive" option. Do not buy an MGB without overdrive for highway driving. * Glass is all original* Chrome is original with no pitting or chipping* Rubber bumpers are in great condition (much better than most 1980 cars)* Transmission is 5-speed with rare overdrive option (works perfectly)* Turn indicators and headlights are flawless with no cracks. chips. or discoloration* Original Stromberg carburetor was replaced with brand new dual-SU carb which improved performance. I have the original carb and all parts. should you prefer the original components. * Exhaust: the new carb required changing the intake and exhaust manifold. which also resulted in a new exhaust system. System was purchased from Victoria British. * Includes: soft fleece-lined car coverThis car is in excellent condition. however it is 35 years old and is sold AS-IS. Car is available for inspection. This is an original condition car in great shape for a 35 year old car. Only 19. 00 miles. Look at the mileage on other cars for sale. I have owned 3 MGB's in my life. I know what I am talking about. Look at the paint line at the sheet metal seams on the rear of the car. The paint is always chipped or messed up. This car is nice. Any one who knows about MGB cars knows the paint always has "spider cracks". This paint is much nicer than most. I don't know why these cars do not sell for more but this car still should be a $15. 00 to $20. 00 car. The reserve is much less than that because I am retired and want to see it move onto someone else who will have fun with it. I did notice a small chip in the windshield. low. in the middle.
