Description of 1966 Mini Classic Mini Cooper

Submitted for your approval. One1966 Austin Mini Cooper ‘S’ barn find from southern Wisconsin this past Fall. This car was recovered from a dairy barn. The wife said that it has got to go.I already have three other Minis and some other British iron. Full BritishMotor Heritage Trust Certificate and title are in possession. This is the realdeal, an original 1966 Austin Cooper ‘S’. It has the original dry suspension. It does nothave the original motor or gearbox, but it has an 1100. Ihave not tried to turn the motor over, so I have no ideaof the condition. It has the original 120mph speedometer. It has the originalSU HS2 carburetors and manifold. The rear seat and squab might clean up and ithas no holes or tears. It has the original rear drum brakes and disk frontbrakes. Missing the oil cooler and brakebooster.

Undoubtedly there is ample rust. The car is crusty. The car needs to be completely gone through and restored. The front floors need replacing and maybe the rear as well. A pair of frontfloors come with the car. The previous owner had designs on replacement butnever got around to it. The wings could be replaced but the hinge panels seemok. The scuttle corners need replacing. The rear boot hinge panel need replacing. The rear valence is rusted as is therear subframe. The car could do with new door skins. The front subframe appearsfine. The battery box is rusted but the boot floor is fine. The driver sidesill should be replaced. The rear seat area appears to be fine with no rustholes. There is no rust through the roof or gutters. The boot lid is fine. Theright quarter panel needs to be pushed back out. The black spots on the car arerust inhibitor. The nose panel is finewith no big dents or rust through. The bonnet is just ok, but no rust throughthe metal. This is a restorable Mini I just restored a 1965 Mini Cooper thatwas in much worse shape than this one. One should be able to replace bodypanels on this car without using a rotisserie. The car rolls just fine. Youmust arrange pick up and shipping.A $500 deposit is due within 72 hours. Serious bidders only PLEASE!
