Description of 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4

If you're looking at this ad. you probably know 3000GT VR-4 's. If not. here's the basics. A 3000GT VR4 compared to the lesser 3000GT is about the same as the difference between a Corvette and a Corvair. There's that much difference. In fact this was Mitsubishi's attempt to get some muscle car market share using some features that are more common in a European super car. To begin with. now there may be lots of cars on the road with all wheel drive (although a lot fewer back then). but VR-4's have all wheel steering as well. All the wheels steer providing fantastic handling. With it's twin turbo engine it's very quick. They car adjusts spoilers and things for you and you have sport or touring exhaust option depending on your mood. I picked up this car on an EBAY ad at the end of 2013. claiming it had low miles but needed a clutch and probably some other more minor repairs. Both Auto Check and Carfax gave it high scores. Suggestion: don't automatically believe Auto Ckeck and Carfax scores. When in doubt. look the car over if possible or get the car inspected. The car came to me. battery was dead. wouldn't start with a jump. Checked the oil. it was filthy and had metallic grit it it. Speedo din't work Exterior had a few rust holes and lots of scratches. Radio didn't work. Interior was in pretty good shape. Flash to now. I had the engine totally rebuilt by a reputable local shop and a new clutch was installed. I had a body man repair the rust holes and and repaint it to git rid of the scratches. The only other thing on exterior of note is the door window trim is peeling (see pic). I sent the instrument panel out to have the speedometer repaired and the repair man told be the speedometer couldn't be fixed. Talked to Mitsubishi Parts. about $450. to get a new one and a 4 month wait. Not a fan of that. so I picked up a HUD speedo that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I still have to play with the HUD (think its set to kilometers. Car runs great now. and I can't believe how it handles. but I need cash to finish another project. I also need the space
