| You are bidding on a 1977 Datsun 280Z as shown. VIN: HLS30411734 It is the more desirable 2 seater one and has the stock straight 6 cylinder with a stick shift original transmission As most classic cars it has it good and bad points. I typically see nice 1977 280Z cars sell at classic auctions from $8. 00 up to $18. 00 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This one will be sold at a discount due to the front unibody needing rust repair. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am listing this car for a friend of mine. He has had the car for a number of years and did a fair amount of work to it. It was maintained and had a very nice body/Paint completed back in 2007 by a local professional body shop . I believe that invoice was $4. 00. At that time the front subframe/front floor was rusted heavily and welded and repaired by the body shop . He enjoyed the car from 2007 to 2009. Fast forward to 2009 and the welding and repairs made to the same unibody front lower frame had again failed and caused the car to fail Pennsylvania State Safety inspection. It was no longer safe to drive. At that time (2009) he took the vehicle back to the same body shop and they wanted $600 additional to repair (to pass inspection) front unibody front lower floor frame rails. Due to his financial situation back in 2009 he did not have the means to fix the car . Last week he purchased a new Mercedes Benz and decided to part with the yellow 280Z for the garage parking spot. I took it from the garage. checked the fluids and it started right up and ran normal. No abnormal engine or trans noises heard. The manual stick shift Trans and clutch are good. The exhaust is ok too. Tire and wheels are nice. The good is the 280Z is painted very nice yellow base clear coat as shown and even the decals and stripes are under the clear coat. The bad point to this car is the left and right front lower subframe would need to be professionally rust repaired. I looked on the 280/240 forum and this unibody rust seems to be a common issue with this car. The buyer of this car would need access to a trailer or transport truck. The buyer would need to be able to purchase or fabricate frame parts to repair the current rusted out front lower unibody subframe. I drove the car from the garage down the street to my trailer but it is not safe to be driven more than that distance. I will be handling the questions/sale to the best of my ability. My pictures are just taken last week and paint it still looks that good. Very straight exterior. It is priced accordingly because needed frame rust repair.
