Description of 1980 Nissan Other

This is a rare opportunity. What you are looking at is a 1988 Nissan Patrol GQ long wheel base. The Patrol is known as "Australia's toughest truck". These have been used for years in places where reliability and durability are a requirement. Few other vehicles can boast the resume the Nissan Patrol has. The Patrol was only sold here in the U. S. until 1969. We never got the best ones from the '80s and '90s. There are only a few of these in the U. S. at this point. I have taken it on a few runs and it did not disappoint. This particular Patrol is powered by a 4. 2 liter straight six engine running on regular unleaded. It has a five speed manual gearbox with the normal high/low transfer box. It is mostly stock aside from a three inch lift and 33 inch tires. There is an aftermarket bull bar with two halogen lights attached. The rear guards behind the back wheels have been trimmed to allow more suspension movement. Also featured is a factory rear sway bar release. Simply pull the lever and the rear bar releases from the body to allow greater flex. Solid axles are used front and rear with 4. 11 differentials and factory rear LSD. As a long wheel base version. it has three rows of seating allowing 7 passengers. There is a provision for a second battery. although only one is currently fitted. I just installed new spark plugs. made custom MSD plug wires. along with a carb rebuild not too long ago. She runs great. Tons of torque. and willing to rev. This truck can easily be used as a daily driver and then a trail boss on the weekend. It has cold A/C and a nice Clarion head unit with Bluetooth connectivity. There's even a CB radio. She cruises easily at 80 mph on the freeway. I have taken it on a few runs. The first one was Pancake Rock here in San Diego. And just last month we went on the Superstition Mountain run. Obviously mine was the only Patrol there. sadly it was the only Nissan of any type as well. That said. it really turned heads. Im still somewhat of an offroading novice. but the Patrol made me look better than I was. I have posted videos on Youtube. I cant post links because of ebay rules. but search out Nissan Patrol at Pancake Rock. or Nissan Patrol at Superstition Mtn. The pictures I have included were taken over the last few months. The Patrol no longer has the step rails. As most people know. any car over 25 years in age is 100% U. S. legal. That is the case with this Patrol. It was legally imported from Australia and copies of all EPA and DOT paperwork will be included. My Patrol is fully titled and registered in Arizona. It can be driven home and easily registered by the new owner. This Patrol cant be registered in California though as the engine wont pass the smog visual inspection. I have tried to be as clear as possible in the description. I had to put 1980 in part of the listing due to the non-U. S. VIN. But please feel free to contact me if you have questions I didn't address. The Patrol is here in San Diego and ready to go anywhere. My reserve is well below what some Land Cruisers cost. And this is far more unique and arguably more capable. In a sea of Jeeps and Toyotas at any meet. this will be one of a kind. I have been importing cars from Japan and Australia for over 10 years. I can get any part from simple service to portal axles and lockers and I am happy to help with anything the buyer needs in the future.
