Description of 1986 Nissan Maxima GL

I am offering for sale a garage kept 1986 Nissan Maxima GL wagon in excellent condition. It is light blue metallic with a blue velour interior. The seats do not have any rips or tears. The dash does not have any cracks. and it is entirely as it was from the factory. except for the tires. Of course. it features the 3. 0 liter VG30 V6 from the Z car of its time. The car currently has just over 97. 00 miles on the odometer. It is equipped with a working sunroof. power antenna. voice warning system. keyless entry. power steering. locks. and windows. It even has the factory floormats with the embroidered "Maxima" logo from the U11 cars. They are all original except for the driver's floormat. which was missing when I bought the car. although I did replace it with a generic mat. It even has the original working factory stereo. which was made by Hitachi or Clarion (I forget which now). All of the full factory instrumentation functions perfectly. as does the cruise control and all of the other accessories. It has an automatic transmission with overdrive and a functioning factory security system. The car features all of its original books. including the owners manual and warranty information from the days when "Major Motion" was Nissan's motto. I also will include a factory service manual and the rare purple covered parts book from Nissan. The tool kit. which in its original embossed "Nissan Motors" vinyl pouch looks as if nobody ever opened it. and I may have been the first person to look inside it when I took the pictures for this posting. I will also include touch-up paint and a battery tender. which is always on the car while it is parked in the garage. The headliner is in nice shape. and the car is very clean. I also have the Carfax printed out for the car. I bought the package deal while I was car shopping. so I ran my own cars. The Carfax shows no accident history or other anomalies. and I will be happy to show it to anyone who wishes to see it. I bought this car a few years ago because when these were new. I would go to work with my father. who was a Nissan technician at the time. I remembered getting these cars from the truck as they were delivered and doing the pre-delivery inspection. This inspection consisted of taking plastic off the seats. checking the fluids. and putting on the center caps for the wheels. which the dealership charged a few hundred dollars for at delivery. When I bought the car. it was in very good shape. but the air conditioning did not work. I purchased all of the A/C components and had a local A/C shop do the work to get it fixed (I have the receipt). The only part they did not need to replace was the evaporator. which I still have new in the box and will include with the car. I also replaced all of the struts. the brakes. the tires (with factory size Goodyears which still have 10/32 tread). the left CV axle because the boot was torn. the EGR valve with a NOS Nissan stamped unit. the distributor (because it was only a few dollars more than just the crank angle sensor I needed). There is also a new air flow meter. although the old one has been cleaned. is still good. and will be included with the sale. Because I get carried away. I spent a year looking for a replacement driver door armrest to replaced the cracked one. which was the only bad part of the interior. I also replaced the rear red side marker lights (also a tough find) because the originals had faded. but I saved the original Kotto lenses in the box the replacement lights came in. I am sure I did other repairs. but I can't remember them all now. The car is factory except for the SiriusXM unit I have in the car since there is no CD player. No holes were drilled. and the unit is held in place with Velcro. If the buyer wants the unit. I will leave it in. or I can remove it and clean up the adhesive from the Velcro strips. which is in the hole where the trip computer would have gone (which is the only option I think the car is missing). The car is not perfect. as it has a small crack in the fiberglass below the right headlamp. I tried to show this in the pictures. but if you are not looking for it. you may not find it. All of the chrome on the grille and emblems is bright and nice. Please contact me if you have any questions.
