Description of 1960 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight

This cool 1960 Olds 98 flattop is just out of many years in storage. Totally running and driving car. Great options including: power windows, power seat, power trunk, A/C, power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, Safety Sentinel speed warning, padded dash, etc. The p-windows, p-seat, and even the original radio all work! Super dry car that is probably 99.9% rust free!
This is a very nice unrestored Olds. I was told the car has only 24k original miles, but I have no way of knowing if that is correct. The body is in great condition considering the age. This is about as rust free as an original 1960 car will get. The patina is just about perfect. The paint is shiny but very old and full of character. There are scratches, chips, cracking, haziness, and missing paint (and every other type of paint flaw) all over as you would expect from paint this old, but it could be enjoyed as it is. The chrome and stainless are very nice! All the glass is original LOF E-Z-Eye and is crack free.
The interior has been redone at one point. The padded dash is original and in great shape. The steering wheel is pretty good. One or two of the chrome plastic headliner bows should be replaced. The door panels are nice. The cloth on the seats is coming apart and the carpet is fading. It could be used as it is but would definitely benefit from some seat covers. All the interior lights work including all the dash lights and dome lights. The power windows go up and down fine. The 8-way power seat works in all directions as it should. The vacuum powered trunk release in the glove box isn't working (I haven't looked at why yet). The chrome on the steering wheel, instrument panel, and dash is nice.
The 394 c.i. engine and Jetaway transmission are in great condition and the car runs and drives wonderfully. The brakes and steering are good. It is a pleasure to drive. All exterior lights work perfectly including turn signals. The windshield wipers run if the key is on so the motor is currently unplugged (they do work though). The AC system is complete and hooked up but the blower isn't doing anything (I have not looked into it yet). The trunk area is original and very nice. All the original panels, spare, and the jack are present. The original jacking instructions are still on the inside of the deck lid.
Overall this is a great full size 1960 GM flattop. Although it is an unrestored car it really could be driven and enjoyed exactly as it is.
The Olds is located in downtown Phoenix (85009). It comes with a clear Arizona title. It is running and driving but has not been thoroughly tested after being in long-term storage. I would not recommend driving this car home any long distance without having it gone through or inspected first. I can hold the car free of charge for a reasonable amount of time after the auction, and safe longer term storage can be arranged. I am happy to help with shipping if possible and have helped ship cars all over the world. We load containers with cars and parts headed to Sweden every month so transportation to the Scandinavian countries is no problem.
I require a deposit of $1000 via Paypal within 24 hours of the end of auction with the remainder due in 7 days. Please ask questions before bidding. I welcome inspection during the auction. The car is for sale so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thank you and good luck.

The power/vacuum trunk release in the glove box came back to life, so that option is now working also.
