Description of 1953 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Super 88

For sale is a 1953 Oldsmobile Super 88. four door. These cars used to be and still are known as "lead sleds" or a "land whales" describing to its large and encompassing presence. This specific car is something which means a lot to me but due to serious health issues and medial bills. I need to part ways with it. I recently had over $15. 00 in new parts and labor put into this car; I have all receipts. All the work was done by Blast From the Past Street Rods in Pottstown Pa. The car has been garaged the entire time I have owned it and it was also started every week. The prior owner redid the entire wiring of the car and they also added brake booster; brakes are very solid and strong. The car runs great and was registered and driven on the road before all the work was completed. The key highlights of the major work is as follows: - Rebuilt Original 303cid Rocket Engine - Bored . 040 over -- now engine is 324cid (see last two images for engine rebuild writeup) - Rebuilt carburetor - Rebuilt radiator - New fuel tank and fuel sending unit - Rebuilt steering drag linkI have a ton of extra parts and original literature for the car. I had great plans envisioned for this car but with my health issues and bills. I have to part with this baby as it currently is. The car is over 60 years old and does have rust on the bottom of the body (holes) but the frame was checked out and is in very solid shape. The truck is rusted pretty bad because when I bought the car. the old AC system has been sold and water was able to enter the truck via the openings. This car is such a unique head turner wherever it goes. I hope this car can find a home where someone will continue to preserve the heritage and originality of the car but yet express their own style with the "ratrod" nature of the car. Title is in hand.
