Description of 1941 Oldsmobile Series 76

I am helping the widow of my deceased 87 year old friend sell his cars and parts.

The car can be driven and enjoyed as is, instead of like many cars that are over-restored and so expensive that they can't be enjoyed.

  • Body off frame build in 1990.

  • 1962 Oldsmobile 394 engine and Turbo 2004R transmission. Some times under certain throttle positions the transmission shifts a little funky 1 to 2 and sometimes 2-3.

  • Power steering (605 box), disc brakes. Hydroboost power brake unit is not currently hooked up (don't know why). Brakes stop good as any manual brake system.

  • Original suspension front and rear in very good condition. Has factory front and rear sway bars.

  • 235/75/15 Michelin tires, whites turned in on 5 Styled Factory Super Stock IV Polycast wheels from 1971 -72 Oldsmobiles.

  • Radio and cassette player.

  • Horn & clock not working.

  • Power seat. Still have manual seat tracks in good condition

  • Factory instruments work (gas gauge wiggles sometimes).

  • Door panels and headliner done in 1990. Seats have original upholstery but needs to be replaced eventually.

  • Has cruise control but not working. Vacuum wipers work.

  • A/C unit is Old Air Hurricane (was cooling last summer, but now blows fuse (maybe bad compressor clutch). Has working factory heater.

  • Weatherstripping in good condition.

  • All body trim stainless and chrome redone when built and still in very good condition, straight and shiny. One flaw on grill chrome is shown in pic.

  • Body is very straight and rust free. Paint is lacquer and is showing a few scratches and other flaws. Car still looks sharp from 10 feet. Has some paint worn off from arm hanging out window and opening door. Has a small scrape on left rear fender as shown in pic. Real Patina from being enjoyed (not fake).

  • Just had engine and complete undercarriage steam cleaned.

  • Extremely reliable, can be driven anywhere. This car drives and handles great.

  • This car has been driven to Pigeon Forge and Frog Follies many times.

  • This lovely Oldsmobile is waiting to tour, show, and enjoy with pride. Fly in, drive home.

  • The State of Alabama does not issue titles for vehicles of this age. A notarized bill of sale and tag registration will be furnished.

  • Please call 205-422-8967 for any additional info.

  • My sale policy is simple, a $200 deposit is required within 48 hours. If you don't want the car when you come to pick it up you only forfeit the small deposit to cover my ad expense.
