A Great winter project !

Firs, ,,,, A little history on the car. I acquired this convertible form a 90 year old friend who bought the car Brand New.

In the summer of 1965 this friend of mine and his brother both decided they wanted to buy a 1965 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible 425 v8. So they both went down to Hoffman Oldsmobile on Connecticut Blvd. East Hartford conn. to order their two Convertibles. Well this friend bought the green convertible with the parchment interior and white Top you see here. His brother bought the identical car but in maroon with the parchment interior and also with a white Convertible top. Well both cars were being enjoyed, this green convertible here was driven up to about 10 years old and had about 75,000 miles and the owner found someone had done a hit and run to the rear right quarter panel of the car. So after driving it for a short time damaged my friend decided to put the car in the garage and drive something else until he got the rear quarter damage repaired. Well some years ended up going by and the brother passed away so my friend was left his maroon 98 convertible which he is still driving today.. Well many many years passed and still enjoying the red convertible it needed some work and some parts. So my friend decided to borrow some parts off the green car. So at this point the car you see here has not had a radiator for many years as it continued to sit in the garage. He also needed a bumper so he borrowed that off the green car also. Anyway FAST FORWARD to 2018

LOTS OF ORIGINAL PAPERWORK TO GO WITH THE CAR.

Including the Protec -to-plate booklet and the Original 1965 invoice plus much more as pictured. .

After sitting for maybe 40 years in this garage he decided it was titme to do something with it. So I acquired the vehicle from him andI now have many other priorities so it is for sale. The car recently got a batter, 8 spark plugs a set of points and a jug of new gas sitting under the hood . Believe it or not the car started up and sounds great. No ticking or knocking. It still has no radiator so you can only let it run for 2 or 3 minutes at a time but it sounds great. It yard drives but has bad brakes but will drive onto a trailer for someone who wants to restore this sweet old Gem ! .

So the car right now starts right up and the green cold light on the dash even still works It should probably have the carburetor be rebuilt or atleast looked at as it doesm't idle as smooth as it could. But as I say the motor sounds amazing. The car has mostly original paint on it. I think if someone was talented they could repair the damage in the back as well as some lower rust pictured and a few other paint spots and still only spot paint the car so they didn't have to do a complete paint. It would be nice to keep as muchof it original as you can. The quarter panel did get pushed in far enoughto close the trunk gap. It will need a good bodyman to push it out. From what I understand the car has never seen a buffer before. It sure would be a sharp land yaught completed. The convertible top I understand is still from 1965 and still looks great. Very soft still and the glass rear window is still nice. I would suggest some scrubbing and it should look nice. I have not tried to put the top down but it appears as it should work ok as I hit the Power top button both direstions and you can hear the top operate. The boot has been in the trunk in the original bag and is still pure white and looks awesome as pictured. The Trunk still has the original mat still basically glued to the floor. From what I can see the trunk floor is still beautiful with original shiny paint on it. It also looks to have the original bias ply spare in it. The car also still has the bias ply tires that are oldso they should be changed before any real driving.

The underside of the car is as rot free as can be. It still has beautiful looking floors and frame without the rot !

The front seat will need a small vinal repair as pictured but the rest of the inside should clean up well. The original rug is still nice. The dash is AMAZING and the pad is beautiful. TheOriginal Oldsmobile floor mats are still in it and in great shape. The car is a VERY DRY car and has only been outside for the last week as I needed my garage parking back.

Connecticut uses the title and registration as one. That with a Bill of sale will get you plates. Please check your local dmv with any questions before bidding.

300. pay pal deposit due immediately at auction end. If you don't feel that is possible please do not bid.

Final payment either bank check, bank to bank wire or cash if in person so there is no hold on the car or paperwork.

Please be sure you are a car guy and know whats involved in an antique vehicle before bidding.

Anyway ask questions. Selling as is cond. Be sure you know this is a project car and your not going to just hop on the interstate with it tomorrow. Please come inspect the car to be sure it is what you like. If you can't I would suggest an independent inspection. I believe ebay offers such an inspection.

I've had a number of ebayers ask about the underside. By far the most solid I've seen since 1965. It would look Awesome if someone took the time to paint it black.
