Description of 1969 Oldsmobile 442 442

Selling my 69 442 olds coupe. Frame off restoration all new body bushings and new paint underneath (no undercoating used). Body and frame are straight as an arrow. This is a true 69 442 with the ID plate beginning with 344. I spent long days and some nights restoring a remarkably good 442 to almost new condition, but, I am 73 yrs. old now and time to let it go. Every thing from the tip of the front bumper to rear is new or rebuilt. All new rubber gaskets and seals, Completely rebuilt 455 engine with all rotating shafts balanced. New Factory 360 horse camshaft installed at the time. Fuel is delivered by a 670 holley carb with vacuum secondaries for smooth transition to the rear bores. Electronic ignition for quick starts. Completely rebuilt Muncie M21 transmission. Shifter was rebuilt at the same time. Drive line has been balanced and connected to the rear end with new heavy duty universal joints. Differential is sporting a highway friendly 3:08 gear with a new Tru-Trac posi12 bolt rear end. New carrier bearings were installed at that time. All new exhaust pipe and mufflers was fitted as well. The car is as clean and shiny underneath as it is topside. Everything regarding the steering and front end has been rebuilt as well, including upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, power steering, power brakes, and new Lee Engineering 12.1 ratio steering box as well. All new brake hoses and power steering hoses as well. Hotchkiss upper and lower boxed rear control arms (better than the factory ones) New coil springs and shocks all around. The car is sporting four wheel slotted and drilled power disc brakes. It is riding on Classic American 16 in. aluminum wheels with Olds center caps. Tires are in very good condition. All new legendary interior was installed on top of double sound proofing material for a quiet ride. I have driven the car almost five thousand miles since rebuild. With the 3:08 rear it cruises comfortably at interstate speeds. Never abused or driven hard. My wife and I simply liked cruising around sometimes in it. We get thumbs up all the time from people on the road. Ice cold air conditioning. You could not build this car today for over twice what I have it listed for. But, again, at my age now it is time to let someone else enjoy it. I would like to thank Jim Michaels who owns and operates Classic Olds in Clemmonsville NC. Jim has been restoring A-body cars most of his life and is THE go to guy for anything Olds. He has been a tremendous help in the restoration of my car.
