Description of 1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire F85

1962 Oldsmobile F85 Jetfire Factory Turbocharged - I am representing the family of the original owner on this Jetfire. The car will come with a detailed almost mile by mile account of what this car has done in the last 57 years. This car was only out in the summer months with the owner documenting the day it went in storage and the day it came out each year. I will go through the basics of the story below, but if you want to read the handwritten pages of the owners log I have a google album that contains the log, documentation from new as well as about 160 pictures and a few videos of it driving and running. I am happy to send the invite to you. I will need your email address to send this invite. It is best that you text or call me at 602-908-9267 to provide me with your email address.
The original owner purchased this Oldsmobile from Denny Motors July 16, 1962. Sold to Max Denny the owner of Denny Motors Motors on April 10, 1974 with 32,000 miles for Max to have in his personal collection. Purchased back from Max August 27, 1993 with 34,583 miles. During the ownership of this very special, rare car the owner logged each and every mile driven as well as activity. To give you some idea of the detail the owner went into I have provided a sample of logs in the notes. In total, there are 23 pages ending on July 18th 2018. Again these are all available in the google album for your review. Please call me at 602-908-9267 so I can get your email address. if you message it through eBay it will more then likely not be allowed through.

I will detail the condition below for your review. Please understand I will be critical, but with that said the car shows fantastically.
Body: The repaint was detailed in notes started in January of 1994 and proceeded through to Mary 12 1996. The paint is excellent. The cost of the work at a local shop was 13,000 in 96. The paint has aged very well with little exposure to the climate. There are now two spots of rust coming through by the chrome trim on both C pillar ( see pic in the gallery). There is very small evidence of bubbling at the lower front edge of the drivers door. It is very small. I have pics of it but the spots just do not show . The stainless trim shows very nice. It is original and not reproduction. The front bumper looks excellent. The rear bumper has poor chrome work. The windows are original and in excellent shape.
Chassis The bottom of the car was not restored. It still has the original paint. It is greasy, but shows well. As per the original invoice in the gallery the owner added "undercoating" at the dealer prior to delivery. It is still in place. The suspension components are all well greased and maintained evidencing by the way the car drives which is excellent.
Motor:As per the protecto plate the original motor number HH138823 is still with the car today. As is the transmission. In 1962 many complained about how the cars turbo responded. The dealers Fix was to discarded the turbos and replaced with quadra jets. This car was left stock. The turbo is original and works perfectly. This car was subject to annual oil changes and multiple transmission fluid changes. The motor pulls hard and has no strange noises. The extra "turbo rocket fluid" comes with the car. This fluid was methanol to keep detonation down.
Interior: The interior is original with the exception of the carpet. Carpet was replaced in 1994. It appears to be NOS. The original seats are showing small tears, and look to be a bit dry. The dash, chrome door panels, and headliner show very well. The gauges as well as the lights all work well.
Documentation: As previously started. The car comes with original manual, window sticker desk sheet, original loan papers, protecto plate, 23 pages of handwritten logs documenting every thing. Pictures from when it was new. I do not know if there could be more documentation.
Driving Experience: When the family asked me to sell off the collection I was exited to hear this one run. This car started the turbo craze that is going strong today. It was amazing I turned the key pumped the gas and it started right up. There is a video showing that first start. I then was honored enough to be able to drive this Jetfire through the streets of Peru Indiana where it has spent its life. This is a no drama car. Drives smooth and quit. Stops well and accelerates properly. Power steering and manual brakes both work as designed.
Overall this is a rare Oldsmobile that is much better then driver quality, fun to drive, and dependable. The buyer will be the second owner. The mileage showing on the odometer is accurate and correct for the car 38522.
