Description of 1969 Oldsmobile Other 1 of 913 Produced, Extremely Rare, 455 cubic inch

First appearing in 1968, the extremely rare Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds was a special-edition performance version of the 442 or Cutlass Supreme: a result of the collaboration between Oldsmobile and Hurst Performance of Warminster, Pennsylvania. Sporting a new Firefrost gold on white paint scheme, this would be the primary paint scheme for many Hurst/Olds models of later years. All of the '68 and '69 H/Os were pinstriped by one person. The interior includes a wood veneer on the mini-console, painted gold stripes on the headrests, and a Hurst/Olds emblem on the glove-box door. Approximately 913 cars were built including 2 convertibles for Hurst promotional use, one for East coast events and one for West coast events(a third was built after one of the original two was destroyed). The 455 cubic-inch Rocket V8 (W46) was rated at 380 horsepower (280 kW) and 500 lb/ft of torque, with the engine receiving a unique intake manifold, chrome steel valve covers, and a special vacuum operated air cleaner lid to allow cold air from the hood scoop into the carburetor. This was backed up by a specially calibrated code OH Turbo 400 transmission with 3.08 gears for cars equipped with A/C such as this example. This vehicle was purchased by the prior owner in June of 2017. We were unable to find any information regarding prior ownership of restoration records from the past. In January of 2018, an MSD Atomic Throttle Body Fuel Injection was installed, and the original Q-Jet Carb and fuel pump are included in the sale. Later that year a new set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires were installed on the vehicle and are in near perfect condition. Vehicle Details: 455 cubic inch V8 engine (numbers matching), TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, Hurst Dual Gate shifte, Working A/C, AM/FM, Factory 8 track, MSD Atomic Throttle Body Fuel Injection: Q-jet carb & original fuel pump included, All factory gauges & tach work, MSD electronic fuel injection, New exhaust, Power steering, Power disc brakes, Automatic transmission, Power windows, Brochures/Owners manual, Extra set of keys, Car cover, Inner trunk lid and novelty license plate autographed by Linda Vaughn and Doc Watson. Included with the vehicle is the original build sheet, though it's hard to read. The cowl tag has the correct interior and paint codes, build date and factory are correct for Hurst/Olds. The casting number on the engine is correct for a 455, and the stamping on the engine matches the VIN, so therefore its extremely likely this vehicle is a true Hurst/Olds: only those had the 455 in 1969. The exterior shows some signs of its age with minor paint flows, but overall the paint is in good shape with no areas of major fading. Contact us for a test drive!
