Description of 1969 Opel GT

Up for sale is my 1969 Opel GT. This is a rare find and it and something you don't see on the road very often. It turns heads everywhere you drive it and is a blast to drive due to the old school Standard H transmission. I have owned the car for 3 years and it has since been my project car. Car has virtually no rust which if you know Opel's is hard to prevent. It has a rare color combination Silver with the Red interior. A lot of work has been put into the car to get it where it is today. Listed below are a few things that have been done with the car along with a list of what it still needs. Please check out the pictures. I will add engine bay pictures soon. The hood release broke recently so when I get the hood open will add pictures to this listing.

ENGINE BAY PHOTOS ADDED

Good:

-Rebuilt Engine, still in its break in period.(New pistons, Crank, etc.) Car has the original 1.9 liter engine but has been bored out and stroked to a 2.0 for better reliability and improved performance.

-Transmission was rebuilt last spring and is in good working order

-All new breaks, rotors, shocks and struts within the last year.

-New distributor

-New fluids

-Carburetor has been rebuilt twice

-New Battery within the last year

-New Break Booster

-Water Pump

-New Spark Plugs

-New Speedometer cable

-Etc. (more info along with paperwork can be provided upon request)

Mechanically the car is pretty much sound. I have been driving it with minor issues, no leaks of any kind.

What it still needs:

-A new carburetor. Yes I know it has been rebuilt twice but for some reason its not regulating idle properly and the car will sometimes stall when breaking. Also times hesitation when pressing the gas. The Carb itself is 20 years old so its just time to purchase a new one. New ones are around $300 bucks.

-Will need a new starter at some point.

-Needs a new exhaust. The original one is still on there and needs to be replaced. You can smell the exhaust inside the cabin

-Car needs some body work, paint it chipping on the passenger rear. Front bumper is cracked and there are some stress cracks on the hood and such.

-Interior is still incomplete however, a lot of the original functions work.

-Needs an alignment steering wheel is stiff, shakes slightly when turning left. Issue could also be tires needing balanced.

-Again details can be provided upon interested parties request.
